This reminds of something Id hear on the old school vector man games back in the day on Sega Genesis :)

OrangeTheory responds:

Really? Thanks! That was one of those games I'll never forget. I gotta make more like this.

Very cool, man. :D Love the portamento melody at the start.

OrangeTheory responds:

Thank you. I might use stuff like that more often.

Reverb and decay on that first bass synth could be more succinct, but I'm digging it. Listened through a couple times. It's just got that vibe to it. The only thing that I feel could have disappeared and made it better is the vinyl scratch and doo's. Beyond that a bit more tweaking on the individual track leveling and it'd be perfect. Makes me want to play an old platform shooter.

OrangeTheory responds:

Thank you very much for your review! I didn't feel like sticking extra percussion in and risking a muddy mix, so I stuck the scratching in. As for the doos, I thought they were a nice touch to make the plucky riff stand out better.

Harsh VIP as some would call it.
One of the two complaints I have with this track is the hat drum at the beginning seemed to start late. It's hard to explain, but it should've started at the start of the bar and not in the middle (that's probably not a helpful explanation I know). Second, the track kind of seemed to lose taste between 2:36 and 3:33. It's just a whole minute of dying down compared to everything up to that point being epic. Overall, it was nice to see a fusion of genres. Great job for the most part.

OrangeTheory responds:

That hat was intended to be in between claps, therefore, cannot start the bar with it.
The "dying down" was intentional. It's like cooling off and preparing for the big finale. Ever listen to classical music?
But thanks for the review. I guess it's all a matter of taste or whatever.

Every time I accumulate some star chips, you post a new song and take all five of them away from me! You're a horrible person! ...a decent musician, but a horrible person!

OrangeTheory responds:

lmfao. I didn't know this was really that good. I just winged it.
