HEADPHONES RECCOMENDED There is a lot of stereo imaging in this one...

Finally Volume 3 comes to a close, and I couldn't think of a better way to do it, atmospheric and epic; yet light-hearted in some sense and enjoyable! This certainly was fun to make, if a bit stressful... It kept scaring me... It nearly crashed 17 times! By god I am lucky I got it uploaded, my laptop was struggling so much it couldn't open the internet or start menu!

This took 20 hours in total to make, I really wanted the mastering perfect here and I put 100 Hz cuts and boosts all over the place. Pretty much every instrument had a parametric equaliser with specialised boost levels, frequencies and bandwidths, and specialised reverbs! ReverbS because Most had a high, med and low frequency range lasting longer the lower it goes.

There are a couple of annoying dropdowns, which I would've fixed, but my laptop probably would've blue screened if I kept it on any longer. I didn't have time to re-export it over and over or duplicate synths or record loops one by one making sure each one had no dropdown and then reconstruct the whole song in the playlist. Those are the only ways to fix it except paying up, but I don't got no muuuuuuuuuneeeeee!

This is by far a different remix than the norm but I like it! This is good for 20 hrs worth of remixing, I'm sure it took some time. I thought the original tune stayed fairly well.
I've only just started making/writing my own music so I don't have much experience but I do know my music and the beat is good.
Being a remix, its not suppose to be exactly like the original and at minute mark 5:00, I could hear the drums very well, a little lower than the normal but that was your intent so they were there and they were fine, keeping the beat of the music going.
Great job! Make sure you strive to do better than your last piece and you'll get better and better with more experience.
Your 2nd favorite came from me;)

Doublechindoge7 responds:

Thanks. In hindsight I feel I didn't do as well with this one as I felt I did when i first made it. Well I guess that's just gonna happen with old music.

you really need to learn how to mix...

that lead synth is unbearable too high and it peaks way too much

at 5:00 you can barely hear the drums

the drums are probably the most important part of house. house isn't anything without the groove.

use this as a reference

why are you cutting 100hz?

you're missing out on all the bass.

roll off around 25-30 hz is all you need.

just make sure your bass doesn't interfere with your kick.

Doublechindoge7 responds:

Sheesh! Wow! I agree that I struggle to mix, but 2 stars!? Okay, guess it's your call... Which synth do you mean by "lead synth" there isn't really a lead... I'm cutting 100 hz and then opening the flood gates and boosting it so it emphasises the drop by making it "Thicker" in a subtle way that isn't in-your face.

It's a little repetitive but i like the piano part a lot. Nice song and keep up the good work. BTW wut did u use to make this song? Please reply!

Doublechindoge7 responds:

Fruity Loops Studio 12.2

I also used 2 3rd party plugins, DSK Overture (for strings and woodwind) and Rough Rider (for mastering and distortion)

Also I'm surprised you liked the piano part, I thought that was the worst part! XD
