Great! :D

This is really good!! Nice choice of instruments for the most part. The only suggestion I have is to use a different snare. Usually for orchestrations they use a concert snare (has a little less attack and usually sounds more like a snare you would hear in old drum corps before war. It would also match the sound of the rolls you have better, and compliment the music without over powering the orchestra or piano). Other than that this is a great track! And I can definitely see this as a battle theme to a video game....some of the sounds in it remind me of Kingdom Hearts battle music :D

Aresdev responds:

I'm actually pretty familiar with that style of music, having participated in music programs for 6 years. I know exactly what you are talking about snare-wise. I will take that into account for future installments. Thanks for the review!

I see it

I see how this could be used as background music for the prelude to a fight or the apocalypse.

It was great and i heard sweet music that my ears enjoyed.

More music from you please?

Aresdev responds:

Sorry it tookme so long, I had no idea this was reviewed recently! I have pleny of music, check it all out, I have a new Metroid Prime themed song up you might enjoy!

Hmmm.... want to project a calvary, sort of a 4 horseman type of feeling, perhaps riding in through the sky slowly descending to their final point. I think I see what you wanted others to see with this. The voices I found very satisfying to this particular view.

Slow strings were affective.

The timpani/bass drums perhaps weren't as solid because of the quality degrade. Which newgrounds hates anything above 44.1Khz so if its quality is 48 or above it down grades it. Strengthen the bass with those and you've got some great awaking of the senses.

The snare drum was very alive and sounded great.

Very interesting...maybe cymbal effects I herd? Then we had this very creepy crypt type of talking...awesome stuff.

Suggestions? Hmmm....venture into different scales you aren't familiar with. Look for that particular sound that maybe you've herd someone describe before, the "chill down the spine" or gave that sort of rush like feeling when that particular chord came about. Find a balance between that and the more familiar scales and chords you hear and that would give oppurtunity to other ideas.

Aresdev responds:

Very helpful review!! I'll try to experiment some more with different chord progressions. What is up with NG, anyway? I don't know if you remember, but it used to be a 6MB deal. A lot more to work with quality wise. I'm actually trying to find a better place to showcase my stuff. Any ideas?

Pretty good

I'm not in my place to critique, but the main thing is just the clarity, probably just do to equipment or balancing though.
Pretty good song. Although, I don't quite get a picture of the Cavalry of the Apocolypse out of it, it's a decent song none the less.

Keep it up, try adding strings sometime?

Aresdev responds:

Actually, it is do to newgrounds. clarity always seems to go down the tubes when I put it up here. Thanks for the review.
