I like the cute string riffs at the beginning. The instruments mesh well and the tones are well-balanced. Solid transition at :25. The kick was a little heavy and sub-bassy for a piece that’s other very light and innocent-sounding. The piece progresses pretty slowly, although you left yourself a lot of space for contrast. It has a great raw emotion about it, and while compositionally it’s very repetitive, you find some subtle ways of varying it such as the synths at 1:41. I think some vocals would’ve added considerably to this piece, perhaps contributing a sense of overarching development that the piece as a whole lacked. The part at 2:32 offered some much-needed structural relief, and I thought it was good that you stripped away the drums at one point. After a while, this piece is quite simply directionless, though. There’s very little new content introduced after around the 2-minute mark - instruments, melodies, or otherwise. You simply need to develop your melodies further beyond the initial riff at the beginning. It also doesn’t help that you went with a staccato approach the whole time. Even varying the note length and articulation would help add some variety and emotion. You did very little with phrasing and dynamic contrast. Overall, this feels like the skeleton of a piece. The mixing and mastering are solid, and you have a good sense of harmony. Now you need to add more variety across several different parameters - dynamics, melody, rhythm, etc. Keep at it, man. ;)

Finally a constructive review so I know what to work on :D, I like all the points you made bc I do tend to get a bit lazy when it comes to variety of melodies and riffs and put them all in synch. Ilike the simple yet catchy melodies so I think with this review its time to further myself. I wish I had my hands on some nice vocals and I bet that or a nice set of horns will be up next in my arsenal. I appreciate the review and I had a blast watching the competition work its magic and this has been fun and great learning experience for me so I thank you all for setting up a great competition. Thank you so much for the review and I'll keep at it trying new things!!

hey thats pretty good

Quite simple, but not boring, the melody and beat flow nicely, very peacefuly. I only wish it had some soft female vocal pieces mixed in :)

Mixing-wise it is perfect, at least for my noob-producer ears
