I'm speechless at this, and how well-placed it would be in a civilization game.
Inspired by ErrorCell's excellent artwork entitled "Crossing the Sea", here is a mellow tune I composed for this year's Art Inspired Music contest. It features background vocals performed by my friend Darren Kerwin, who was kind enough to lend me his voice for this ambient-laced track. We're glad we've been able to finish this in time for submission, and we hope you enjoy. :)
The whispered words are Gutta cavat lapidem (non vi sed saepe cadendo) which translate as "A water drop hollows a stone (not by force, but by falling often) which Darren felt were fitting to a song that focused on the sea so heavily.
I'm speechless at this, and how well-placed it would be in a civilization game.
Thank you! Civilization, that's a nice reference. I loved V :)

Oh wow! I waited until I got back from Japan, and took a few days without much online activity (to relax after heavy touristing), before I listened to this.
I'm really glad I took myself time to properly enjoy it now, because man, do I enjoy it! <3
Everything from whispers to the beat, and all in between, is amazing. Great job, both of you :D
Oh hey, glad it was worth the wait then ;)

That´s one cool chilly ambient track! I love the slow groovy bassline and percussion with the shaker popping in later. The violin (or is it a viola?) could be a bit more close and intimitating. But I always get complains, when I do these things, so it´s probably just a matter of taste :) Great job from Darren with the background vocals. Maybe the percussion could vary a bit at the end, they feel a bit naked here. Maybe a layer of a slow pad which fades out? Great track! Good luck for the two of you.
Hey, thanks for your review! Glad you enjoyed the mixing.
It's actually a cello, and I can confirm it's definitely not easy to get the tone you want and placement in the mix. Thanks for your suggestions!
Damn this is relaxing! Love this!!!
Thanks!
