"We have been asleep for far too long; In order to survive, the world must wake up..." - Unknown

WTF-ANIME?!

While not everyone in the world is asleep, a lot of us have not yet awoken to realize our true potential. Take from the quote and this statement what you will. It is entirely open to any individual's interpretation to to with as they deem fit.

This is marked as a WTF-ANIME?! track due to the use of samples from the anime known as Bleach. specifically a long quot from Mayuri Kurotsuchi about perfection and the fact that it is not easily (or even quite possible) to obtain in this world. It also ties into the theme of my next EP, collectively known as 'Waking Up.'

I will offer the quote in text form below as it is hard to make out some of the words in the Sample due to the heavy amount of effects I have placed upon said speech.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it.

Please leave your honest opinion.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A HATER!

SAMPLE: Mayuri Kurotsuchi (dialogue from 'Bleach')

Dialogue:
The Perfect being you said? Well, I have to tell you the honest truth as I see it. In this world nothing perfect exists. It may be a cliche after all, but it's the way things are. That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection. It's infatuation, but ultimately I have to ask myself what is the true meaning of being perfect and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is, I despise perfection. If something is truly perfect, that's it. The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination. No space for intelligence or ability or improvement. Do you understand? To men of science like us perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you, but not perfect. Scientists agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection. That's the kind of creatures we are. We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp and trying to reach for something that in the end we have to admit may, in fact be unreachable......

In other words, you may think that we operate on the same level, but you are wrong. The moment you started talking about perfection you embraced an impossible concept and are already lost to me. That is of course if you are indeed a scientist at all....

This is dope yo. Lol holy shit all those long ass comments below...
It's like 5 something in the morning but this is dope and I'm going back to sleep.

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Yeah, I was hoping you would have left a review with more substance to be perfectly honest! ^-^

I've always agreed with this notion of perfection. I believe perfection as we often think about it is not only a lie, it's a misguided look at what perfection can be.

Buddha had once said that when you realize how perfect everything is, you'll tilt your head up and laugh at the sky.

Considering this, I believe perfection to already be in existence. I also believe that as we learn more about the world around us, the concept of perfection will change because the current definition we have of perfection implies (arrogantly) that we know just how far things can go, that we know the height of existence and all that it entails, etc

Honestly? I believe perfection is change. Constant movement. Doesn't have to be positive or negative, but everyone, for better or worse, has the ability to change the world by the smallest decisions. Every choice we make reverberates within the ephemeral lake.

Can you imagine how different your views would be if you could be exposed to the "map of existence"? Where you had complete omniscience? Things would look so drastically different from there.

Maybe everything's perfect in that everything simply is? Maybe simply being is perfection in and of itself?

Love the atmosphere here. The dialogue feels almost uplifting if you read the words and ignore the voice but the voice is great for this. Almost like it comes from someone with a certain calculated madness to them.

Where the hell are ya'll gettin your drum samples?? I haven't sampled for drums in a minute but I miss them. Gotta wait some time to dig my old library up. You and G mix things on point. It's always lovely to see. Good work Moppy

I get where you're coming from, but I try and not conflate usage of words with words that already have definitions. If someone conflates the definition of one word by using another one that is already being used one way, you are not being rational in my worldview. Just my two cents on that.

I'm not the one to answer your other queries as they seem somewhat rhetorical and should be answered by yourself, not I. However, I do agree with what it seems you are insinuating by asking said queries. Perfection, at least with the way said word is defined in American English, is unattainable.

"Almost like it comes from someone with a certain calculated madness to them."

Taking the fact that the image of the character where said dialogue originates is one of Ichigo Kurasaki's insane adversaries, I'm not surprised by this statement.

"Where the hell are ya'll gettin' your drum samples??"

i first heard the break I used on this track on a Northwest US rapper's beat. I asked the producer on Twitter where he got the break and he sent it to me over Mediafire.

I've cut this specific break up before. I'll put it up on an outside site and send it to you in a PM if you're really hankering for breakbeats to experiment with.

Dig it. Psychedelic, spacey and grooving. Love especially the subtle little atmospherics. drum line is smart and groovy with those gentle little anticipations, and the vinyl crackle - effect adds a dope sense of space and time.

Vocals handled great, the touches at the beginning pick your ears up and then the main sample flows smooth with the track vibed and phased out with some cool ass dub echo. Me likey

definitely ipod worthy material, this particular track, btw i might use your Unreliable Methodology for some spoken word poems. will be waiting for that EP. bet its gonna be dope.

i really enjoyed the way you implemented those bubbly congas, panning is on point and perfect amount of resonance, i liked how you made the crackles set that way. nice outro, is there any intentional emphasis on the fact that you had planned, by delaying the hi freqs twice before fading out?

you got it right over here, the take that too much of something, in this case instruments, are not always the best option. youve got a perfect blend in this recipe.

im always proud of how you manage to pull off such an atmosphere, when the percs approach its so dope, and those light piano brushes are filtered with such attention and care. for the words, it was a good good choice, and it meshes so well with the style. bass is always dope. timing is dope. the fluidity of all layers makes it seem like the best soundtrack to listen to when walking around outside when its dark with the mindset of a thrill seeking individual.

there is no flaw that i can find.

Q ~~

"is there any intentional emphasis on the fact that you had planned, by delaying the hi freqs twice before fading out?"

It's just a couple of filtered delays on the Dialogue.

"and those light piano brushes are filtered with such attention and care"

The piano is actually built into the Dialogue. Ironically, I've sampled the piano track from the Soundtrack to Bleach before on an as of yet unreleased beat.

Thanks for the love Q! ^_^

I really like it, very eerie that Is possibly useable for horror games. The sound affects were awesome, but the voice kinda ruined it. Sorry if this is a short review, but it still needs attention!

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Thanks for the critique.

Yeah, this is actually going to be an introductory track for an EP I'm working on so the Dialogue is necessary.
