EternalDissonance responds:

usually i respond to every review... not much i can say here tho. glad u enjoyed.

Wow...

This is amazing for your third submission. I absolutely sucked when I was making my first 10 or 20.

*+*TIP*+*
Listen PAST the melody. Listen to what instruments people are using and practice a lot and you'll do a lot better than me or Xx-ChiRoN-xX.

PS: Xx-ChiRoN-xX gave me that tip.

Check my audio, too!
-DJ DaVinster

EternalDissonance responds:

awww, didnt u hear my countermelody? The first counter, not the second asain sounding one. oh well, u just gave me the best damn advice i heard in a long time, thanks. like i said, this was more experimental. I'm all about complicated melodies, u'll hear that a lot from me, but i know how to harmonize, so ill try on my next song.

Yo dude!

Nice production, but get off of the Fruity Loop samples unless you're either going to edit them to make your own sound, or use it as a good thing, which you kind of did. You still missed the point though. Making your own samples insures the sound you want, a better sound, and something us listeners know that you've created, something you truly influenced. Nice composition, you've got that much down, that's for sure : D

-I use FL Studio as well, check my audio : D

EternalDissonance responds:

making your own samples is very annoying... grr.... im gettin a keyboard eventually, probably by summertime. Then you get to hear what I can really do.

Nicely done.

The track is well put together, and your drumwork is solid. Though it all sounds very synthetic- I suggest putting a few effects over your drums at the least.

Otherwise the only other problem I had was that you encoded this to 320kb/s! For the audio portal this is just blatant quality overkill. 128kb/s stereo is good enough for any song that will be listened to over the net (or downloaded).

You will find that you will be able to fit ALOT more into the 4MB limit this way, also.

EternalDissonance responds:

thanks about the drumwork... like i said, this was an experimental track, and i think it went quite well.
You caught me! What I do when I'm converting the file from Fruity Loops into Mp3 format is crank up the bitrate until i go over 4 MB. For longer songs I make in the future (once i get a keyboard), yes, I will kill the quality. But thanks for the advice anyway.

Foot-tappin Good!

i couldn't stop moving to the beat. Its nice and consistent without being repetitive. The beginning drums sound a little too much like a march, but its too short to be a super-nuisance. Now if you could just improve your dynamic contrast then...oops, sorry.

EternalDissonance responds:

dr. foster? ah the drums... i was actually experimenting with drums this song, and i think it worked out pretty well as a transition. thank you
