At some point you have to tell me your secrets how you mix these hybrid percussion sounds with all the orchestral stuff. When I try to do this, always either the percussion sounds very thin or it´s totally overpowering the orchestral stuff :( Not to to talk that my poor laptop which doesn´t really like when I´m doing this and always starts to strike.
Anyway... Cool track. I think I like it a little bit more than your other submission. It has a bit more power I guess :) Loops perfectly. The noisy, voice like sound which starts in the middle is really cool. The only thing which I think could be better is a bit more humanizing on the staccato strings but maybe it would take a bit of that mechanical cyberpunk feeling, so I guess it´s fine :) It´s a bit repitative, okay, but if we are honest most of the people want to have repitative good looping music as background for games and sometimes films.
Anyway... Have fun and good luck!
Mastering and mixing this track was fairly easy because there wasn't much stuff to add, and like you mentioned, it's repetitive. My laptop can't handle all those libraries too, so what I did was render each section to WAV then re import them. But now I learn to manage resource well so I don't have to do this often.
Thank you for your reviews a lot :). Thanks, have fun too and good luck to you!
A bit loud at 0:44!
A.I.M Judging Review
This epic just as the other one. Great arrangement, great melody work, and a great use of instruments. The impact thing that comes in at 0:33 is a bit too loud in my opinion, and it kinda supresses all the otheri nstruments for a long period of time. Elsewise, I have prettym uch the same comments like those on your other track. It's a bit repetetive, but you do a great job building up tension and letting it loose.
This track certainly fits your story, but not really the art, as it has a bit too much action and epicness in it X3.
Great Sound Overall. Definitely has that strong rivalry war theme to it. Like medal of honor with a futuristic twist.
Thank you for your review bro. :)
Similar vibe as the other track you submitted. Repetitive here too, but still nice progression. Though i did like the choir in the other track. This one doesn't really match the artwork because well...it's too epic for the artwork xD but....it definitely fits your crazy story...dang it's sad to see that kind of crazy action.
I can't say i've ever seen someone dead in person before besides funerals. I like the percussion here. Ilike how it builds up but i feel there could've been more earlier on, building up a little faster. I like what this turns into though. Great mixing here as usual, great action, though i like the other one a little better in ways, but some things about this i like better. This would be good for a game boss fight.
thank you for your review RF. yeah i'm struggling pretty hard to write non-repetitive stuff. it's just crazy. personally i enter AIM is not to win but to have the fun, and especially the encouragement for other less known musicians to participate. winning a contest is no longer my goal. i just want to have fun, and having an ordinary but clear milestone in life that i took part in one of the greatest NG contests in the history. and i want it to happen every year.
Thank you very much for hosting such amazing contest, and most importantly keeping it going for low life plebs like me to take part in. I owe you for this. :)
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
