aliens.... and kazoos.... that's a lunar transmission! over 4 minutes of not-perfect music! I am still learning to make music, and this was the best I could come up with. Hope you enjoy!

intro is really loud and doesnt fit into the rest of the song. i really like the musicbox organ part, both instruments go hand in hand thats great! the bass part sounds cool but again sounds like a different genre. after getting used to it the song actually has a pretty neat sound! i like the part from 1:16 a lot BUT there is a big important piece missing. DRUMS. dude where are they? your synths sound really good and could easily be in a videogame and drums would spice things waaayy up! keep it up and dont lose motivation!

Thanks for reviewing! I couldn't get a good drum sound, so I just went without them. If I ever find a drum pattern I like then I will add it.

Holy fuck those heavily panned digitally distorted pads right at the beginning maxed out my adrenal glands. The funny thing is that if you made an entire dubstep song around that one noise people would shit tits. Can't tell if those are samples or what but hey: gold. I didn't even care about the rest of the song. I just kept going back and listening to that noise. It was yummy in a synesthesia kind of way. I think I tasted metal listening to that noise.

You obviously have a knack for aranging melodies. I loved those progressions and the chords were lush. I think your mixing needs some work. One last thing I could nit pick is that I felt like the entire song was a build up for a song that never came.

Please don't take this review as a negative. For someone that is learning you're making really good progress! I hope you keep at it and learn everything you want to learn :)

It starts off ear piercing, way too loud! The picked bass 43 seconds in sounds very neat. The synth in the background is barely noticeable, not only should it have been louder, but also more prominent. I like the xylophone melody, it has a unique style to it.
I would consider 1:47 to be the "main theme" of the entire thing, I mean that it's the part that stands out the most. When the voices at 2:18 come in it sounds very Majora's Mask-like. Reminds me of the segment in the game where aliens invade Romani Ranch.
At 2:50 it sounds like it's repeating for the most part, with a few minor changes. To me that's not a weakness, but so is the way it ends, would have preferred if the last 15 seconds or so were faded out or something. And again, the audio at 3:07, 3:38 and 4:11 are loud to the point that they distract the ears from the rest.
The mixing could use some improvements. Most instruments sound too centered. For example at 1:55, another xylophone with slightly lower volume could have been added and panned to the right. Or how about the synth from the beginning? It would have sounded much better if it had a longer reach to the sides.

Conclusion:
- Cool bassline
- The volume & panning is unbalanced between the instruments
- Has a memorable melody
- Good variation

homchom responds:

Thanks for reviewing! I know it wasn't the best, but the fact that you thought some parts of it were very neat means alot. I will take these into consideration and might make a v2 later.
