freaky

the starting point of static gives it a nice wave

Great.

Let's do one of those reviews written along with listening to the track.

Nice Bjorky intro, reverse samples? Excellent build-up so far with the chopped and delayed trancelike arpeggio as a beacon in the noisiness.
It's entered a rather gloomy beat now that may be a little distant for its own good.
Oh that was the song already haha, here it goes again.

Yeah the main feature of this is probably the warm bath formed by the bits-and-pieces-style synth work and effective volume swells. I still feel the beat is a little underwhelming. That part is very short and rather straight-forward. It might've been cool to have them play on their own for a little while before taking them away again.

Overall though I can very well see how you consider this your best work, the atmosphere is created very craftily and intricately. Excellent addition to your lo-fi collection! :)

5/5

Thanks for the review! The reverse samples were actually sampled from somewhere in the middle of the track; crafty, yes? Of course, there were some other things going on as well... some of which got mostly drowned out, but I think it worked out well overall nonetheless. I didn't do much with the beat on this one... I think I was going through some sort of phase, not doing much with drums... which is funny, because I'm currently working on a track which is almost entirely percussive...
Anyway, thanks again for the review.

I always appreciate good ambient tracks, this being one of the really good ones.
In the beginning I expected a halfway average sounding track, but it soon evolved into an AMAZING musical experience.
There`s only one of these musical and melody-making synths, however, it was enough....(I think)....
I think!

But be sure not to have too buzzing instruments, though that can add a great flavour, this time it was a little bit lame...

Realy nice and well done ambient sound producers there, though sharp and crushed, they add the breathing sound, always appreciated by me and sure many others.

All of these instruments are pretty cold... how dare you use my style!
But you made it more diverse by some drums I really don`t know how good they were, at one hand, most tracks get much better by the act of adding drums, so did this, but I don`t know if the drums were any good at all!

You could use to soften most of your tracks here, this is very sharp for being ambient, an ambent should be relaxing, and this was... to a point.

Nice track, could have been better, but good work anyways!

attemptedperfection responds:

the "buzzing instruments" were actually a side effect of one of my ambient synth-machines malfunctioning when dealing with overtones... so, rather than re-do them, I decided to keep it, 'cause I thought it sounded rather nifty.
thanks for the detailed review!

I'm writing this as I listen, so excuse me if i ramble. Great intro, sounds very BOCish. Quality use of panning and the sounds all sit really well together and are really well chosen/cretaed. I would like to hear the drums have more prominence in the mix and really break through the reverb, but then I imagine it might lose it's ambient vibe. The reverbed kicks work really well to add suspense. It gets a little muddled sounds-wise towards the end, a bit too much reverb on the sounds perhaps, they are fighting for space, ends quite abruptly, but i really like the style.
Really nice piece of music, I would maybe even try a version without the drums and extend it into a longer piece.
Good stuff man.

attemptedperfection responds:

yeah, I had some issues with the second half or so... couldn't quite get it right...
thanks for the review!
