The track has a slightly disjunct funk groove with emphasis on offbeat sixteenth note divisions while diving into the symmetric patterns of the half-whole octatonic scale. Equidistant tonal systems are compartively easy to visualize and play on fretted instruments such as the guitar as you just need to shift what you play- in the case of HW & WH octatonic that's up a minor 3rd/down a major sixth or up/down three semitones/three frets.
