Ehh...
I think that first version was better, because it was more "raw".
This is my entry for pixelday 2016.
It's a remake of this song I did earlier:

I don't know if remakes are allowed, but it took me a longer time to re-make the song than it took me to create the first version. I think it sounds a lot better this way. In any case a lot more like an actual 8-bit device.
It's about the creation of an 8-bit world, as intro to a story of biblical proportions. It has a commodore 64 sound, with only 3 tracks like the original commodore 64 had, yet I chose to make it sound stereo and with adjustable volume levels per track, because that made the song more lively. I also added effects to make it sound like it was played through lo-fi computer speakers in an average living room, to further make the sound more interesting and enhance the atmosphere.
Edit 1-22-2019: Replaced the synthesized static hiss with static recorded from the audio out of a Nintendo Gameboy Classic on the left and a Gameboy Advance on the right. I removed the sound of the snes on/of switch, because I moved it to an earlier song.

I LIKE! :)
I enjoy them both, but I think the first one had a bit of a "rougher" edge to it that helped the 8-bit feeling, you know? The remake sounds a lot cleaner, but it loses a bit of the intensity of the original in my opinion.
nice :)
Nice remake. It's really interesting how the song can now totally fit into another scene just by making some changes. :) I have to remember that when making another song ;)
