It reminds me a bit of your "The Final Phase" and of Bossfight's "Flirt Flirt Oh It Hurts".
I always debate whether or not to cut off the intro to a song just to make it loop on Newgrounds. Really wish there was a better loop system. :x
Anyways, I created this track out of boredom just for the hell of it, so there wasn't much new here being explored. Also, it's another track in C minor. That seems to be my new go-to key when I'm not actively thinking about it. However, I decided to let this be a learning experience for me and used it to practice some very basic mixing skills. I didn't spend too much time with it since I'm busy with other stuff atm, but it was still a nice change of pace. I don't expect to see any real results with mixing practice for quite some time.
Made mostly with Halion Sonic 2's library, along with Famisynth.
In other news, I'm finally going for a degree in music composition this coming semester, so I'm excited for the new year. :3

I've only heard a few of your pieces before, but as I'm going through your stuff I find more and more reason to check out your even older pieces as well. I hope you find the time to compose and upload something new soon!
That's very gracious of you, thanks a lot! I've honestly been a little disappointed in how little I've produced in the past year, but college is very busy and I take it as seriously as I can. I'm debating tossing up the crude mockups of my unrecorded class projects, and I have a bunch of unfinished tracks that I've thought about finishing when I have the chance. Hopefully that'll fill out this year a bit once I finish the semester! :D
Wonderful! just what I was looking for! Can I use it in a game I will sell on Steam? I would make sure to mention you! Congrats :)
Sure thing, you can use this if you'd like. Thanks for listening!
I ~adore~ (boss) battle themes.
I'm not sure if this is a remix or if it's an original song, but I enjoy this quite a lot because
1) It's not repetitive (unless you count the loop, aha.)
And:
2) It's not DARK (I love dark battle themes, but I think that there's a distinct lack of themes that have different flavours and personalities! (The main reason why I adore all of the boss themes from Undertale, for instance, is because of their varied and novel sounds and structures and meanings and feelings.))
:3
In other news:
The only reason why I didn't give you five stars is because I felt as though parts of the song were not fully expounded upon; I enjoyed the entire song but felt as though a number of parts could have altered the notes ever-so-slightly in order to create both more range in the local part and to also further the actual emotion of the song.
Hey, thanks for taking the time to review! This is an original song I did - I've never worked on a remix that I liked enough to share with people. I also enjoy battle themes with character a lot, as those made up a large portion of my entertainment experience growing up.
I've always had a propensity to fall into the "medley effect" whenever I freely write battle music with no muse. As of late I've seen where some of that issue stems from, and I may be tackling more classical forms for a while to help me work on "development" skills. Perhaps it's just a phase, however.
Thanks again for reviewing! :)
Have another 5. I really liked this, the mix sounds great, it's always nice to listen to your compositions. I like the bit from 1:40 to 2:06, the bass reminds me of the SNES Final Fantasy games. The organs in this song sound really nice too
Thanks ILG, that means a lot! I actually stuck with one organ this time around since I wasn't trying to spend too long fiddling with the track. I was even about to write some small solo sections, but decided to throw those out since I felt they were going to eat up my time and push the song past its welcome. The bass part at 1:40 came from the sketching phase, where I initially wrote this as an entirely 8-bit piece with a very active triangle bassline. Though most of it got thrown out, I wanted to give the bass at least one spot to break out from parroting the guitar xD
I'm glad you enjoy listening, the feeling is mutual! Thanks for reviewing again! :D
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
