Electronic - Drum N Bass

Author Comments

This is the first track for my 7th album (currently untitled). I'm not sure where this album is headed, but this song is hopefully a step in the right direction!

Pretty good dnb man, drums are punchy and have lots of variation but it's the pads that are really special for me. They simply sound great and really portray the atmosphere you're going for. The only thing that brings it down for me is the bassline. I think you could've thought outside the box a bit more - it seems a bit generic to me, and you can tell it was done on massive. I think with a little bit more experimentation this tune could be really great.

larrynachos responds:

Thanks dude! I agree with a lot of your points.

Interesting piece. Aside from the obvious dnb badass mode, it gives out an ominous feeling of space and calmness. I like these feels, so I like this track too. ;)

larrynachos responds:

Yeah, this song is quite the blend of different things it seems. I'm so glad everyone likes it!

Thanks for the review!~

I like the sense of adventure this has. Interesting combination with the bass and the dreamy pads. I kind of wish you had built up a bit more to the drop at :45. I think you needed a stronger transition there. Your mixing has improved a lot in the past few months, but I think the bass was a bit too loud. You could've done a lot more with this piece. It gets really repetitive by the end, even if there are a few structural changes here and there. Overall, I like it, but I think it needed more of a sense of direction. Some more melodic content could help you establish that direction. Either way, keep at it, LN. ;)

larrynachos responds:

With this song, I was trying something new. To me, the bass isn't too loud. I've recently taking a liking to powerful bass that rumbles my headphones and massages my ears.

I do have to agree with you on the structural parts though. I didn't really build up to the drop, and it is kinda repetitive.

Thanks for the review!

I really hear you growing to sound like cornandbeans. Which is awesome! :D I've been looking for stuff forever that had that cnb sound since he doesn't make that kind of stuff himself anymore.

larrynachos responds:

Cornandbeans makes some sweet music. It's nice to hear that I'm starting to sound like the greats!
