Relaxing..

A very good track, very relaxing. For some reason it reminds me of the SNES video game Secret of Mana, wich happens to be one of my favorite video games, making me like this song even more. Keep up the good work jones. =)

Drums?!?!

Well, this is a true ambient piece... but in the beginning of the song I was waiting for some awesome drums to come in!

Then I was like... wait... maybe not all ambient pieces on NG have dnb elements to them like Kirizzle's (who I had just listened too).

Anyhow, I find it hard to rate ambient pieces because they put me to sleep usually so please don't take any offense to my rating.

Besides that fact, the only bad thing about the song was the SQ. It was very buzzy (not purposely I think) or scratchy at some parts.

If you find the time check out my page at http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1611484.

My newest submission is: "Endless Winter".

I hope to hear from you again whether in response or review!

newgrounds: pitbulljones strikes back!!!

i am drunk ATM but your soud is still great to listen to ( not the old always repeating bullcr@ap on newgrounds - it's just my taste- ) , but this is really good to listen to , timless or something , well , bye

A really...

...smooth little piece right here, man!

Definitley moody and chilled out, just the way I like it.

Pieces like this is difficult to critisise, since it´s what you want that really matters, if u know what I mean... I could go in and say that "you should have introduced some kindof beat bl bal bal" but that would have made a totally different song.
I did expect a beat to arrive tho, but hell this is sweet as it is.

A technical issue I can bring up though :)

Some of the sounds seem to mask each other quite some. I think you definitley should check your EQ a little, and try to "puzzle" the sounds together better. Very important on a song like this that you use all of the 3-d specturm of the sound between the speakers (up-down = frequencie, left right and forth - back volume). You dod have some panning and good stuff going on, but try and see if ya can "release" the instruments even more!

There is always room for improvement, whoever made the song, but i really gotta try hard to foind something here.

IMO a beat would have been good, even if it would have been a subtle klick or whatever.

Great job though man, im gonna try to greview my friends music a lil more... but im gonna be stuck with that dial up now and then >:(

Peace!

Good, mate.

All good, all good. Nice ambience and good choice to not use drums, that would've taken away a lot of the subtlety.

Great instrumentation again, mastering is flawless as far as I can tell.

Only thing is, it doesn't feel as "fresh" as some of your other tunes to me. Might be because I've heard a lot of your stuff, but I don't consider you an artist I'd get bored with
What I think you should do is experiment a little, mainly dynamically. You are developed far enough in your style to pull off some surprises without ruining your overall sound.

One tiny example is that the melody thingy descends the same way as the pads - you can add excitement just by choosing inversions for the chords so basically it's harder to tell what's happening.

As a background for a movie, or an interlude on a CD, this is fine, but as a song there's still some terrain to win on this one.

Btw, I'm really stuck getting a mix right on a little punky choon in Cubase and I hope you'll be able to help me. Hope you are on MSN later tonite.

4/5

pitbulljones responds:

Hey 'tang wassup.thanks for the review mate. yea i agree with you on the drums mate, i was gonna put some in but i left em out as they just didnt sit right. must bethe first time ive evcer got a positve comment on mastering, thanks mate.

Hmmm not as fresh a track, to some extent i agree with you, other ways i don't. I think your right in that i need to play with the dynamics of tracks, the one thingi don't have is knowledge of music and neither the initiative to do so. I just have an ear lol i don't even know what inversions are mate seriously.

Yea it'd score a film or something pretty well, i may come bck to this or i cud send you the project file if you have the appropiate vsti's and you could have a play at it and improve it.

yea sporry about that the other day, i was out and i had about have dozen messages from you needing help. sorry again.

Thanks for your reveiw and honest comments, its what i love about you.
