I wanted this song to be smooth and easy to listen to. Then turns into some razor elemental dubstep. Hope you guys enjoy it.
It's real title is "1994" but for newgrounds I called it "Steps".

== I wasn’t your judge for the NGAUC, but here’s some constructive criticism anyways. ==

This track is pretty darn awesome. I mean, the sound design is just great, from the plucks to the pads to the occasional vocal sample to the wubs, which just sound really cool! The biggest critique I think I have on this track is that, by the end, it starts to get pretty repetitive. The drop section itself feels a bit repetitive - the wubs need to be varied more - and then when we go into the smooth, chill section, it’s nothing we haven’t heard already, which is unfortunate, because I kinda want some more interest or variety. Also, for a dubstep song, I kinda expected this to have a little more bass - in the drop, outside of the kick I don’t hear any at all. Still though, your sound design managed to keep this track interesting and compelling to me. Score: 8.5

You got guts submitting classic 2-step dubstep to this contest, lol. And you damn hit it real nice for me at least. Sick work. this isn't an official contest review as the first round doesn't require reviews, but I really wanted to shoot one by here to say you've got really good framework man. solid mixdown and really really classic feel, almost like old school Skream. I'd just suggest developing your melodic undertones more thoroughly, more presence from those would really help your track maintain authority as someone listens, its something Skream did really well. Listen to his track Midnight Request Line if you are wondering what I mean. good luck in the rest of the contest mate, hope to see you in the next round :)

I do see what you mean, I just listened to that song and I really like it & its very close to my style. I appreciate everything you said. I'll keep everything in mind for my future tracks. Thanks!

Finally I found some dubstep for this contest! (NGAUC 2015) I haven't seen dubstep before this entry, and the drop here is awesome. I like the reverb on everything, it gives it a kind of creepy feel. Good job.

Athanatos responds:

That's what I'm good at, making some creepy sounds/songs! I love reverb and I try my hardest to make it fit perfectly. And thank you!

5 stars

Athanatos responds:

I appreciate that greatly.

Woah, are you sure you're not Skrillex? Jeez you're awesome! I just have one question, what site/app do you go to to make dubstep songs like this?

PS: I loved how this song is just just a calm repetitive one. I've been looking for a dubstep song that's not so intense that it will keep me from sleeping because I listen to music to help me get to sleep. It's the only way to get me to sleep with my insomnia lol.

Keep up the great work!

Athanatos responds:

Thank you very much, I use Ableton Live 9.
