winter of 420 when
Heya peeps! Ceevro here:
Whole lotta loves for all the hardworking people who made this silly little singalong concept work so well, yet again! Special thanks to Step for all the technical work, basically taking raw mic feeds and turning them into music.
For those of you who are sad that they didn't climb on board for this one, fear not! Ceevro's Singalong Collabs will keep going as long as there is participation! #3 is "To Be With You" by Mr. Big, and we're always looking for people to jump in!
With music, we shall take over the world!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!!
...Or just have a good time and an excuse to drink...whichever.

Hey! This is Step. Here we have a cover of Summer of 69, by Bryan Adams, organised by Ceevro. I was the guy in charge of bringing the different parts together and doing the editing, including mixing, syncing, tuning, adding EQ, reverb, compression, and so on. Like the previous singalong, we have a ton of singers and instrument players. This time round we have up to nine unique vocal lines, and recorded parts sent by eleven different people! Also like the last singalong, 99.9% of what you're hearing is live.
You can check out the singalong's thread here:

On my end, I did all of the work on FL Studio 11, using Parametric EQ 2, Fruity Compressor, Fruity Reeverb, Edison and Newtone. I was privileged to work with such talented people once again and I hope you all enjoy it!
SPECIAL THANKS to Ryan Stunkel for doing an excellent mastering job on this under short notice!

LYRICS
I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it till my fingers bled
Was the summer of 69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit, Jody got married
Shoulda known we’d never get far
Oh, when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I’d always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah
It was the summer of ‘69
Un-huh
Ain’t no use in complainin’
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenings down at the drive-in
And that’s when I met you yeah
Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You told me we could last forever
And when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah
It was the summer of 69
Un-huh
And we were killing time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess that nothing can last forever, forever... no!
And now the times are changin’
Look at everything that’s come and gone
Sometimes when I play that old six-string
Think about you, wonder what went wrong, yeah
Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You told me we could last forever
And when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah
It was the summer of 69
Un-huh
It was the summer of 69
Oh, yeah
It was the summer of 69
Un-huh
It was the summer of 69
It was the summer of 69

Wait, did you actually know what 69 meant and put it in this song?
Um...the original author, Bryan Adams, stated directly that of course the lyrics were a sex joke!
Those were the best days of my life
Funny Number.
This is so catchy!!
