That freakout part in the second half is crazy. Nice contrast with the chill intro.

And when it comes back to the chill intro was so cash. It was like the equivalent of a 15 years later smash cut in a movie. Like, bam.

I kinda wish during the freakout part that there was a brief stretch where the beat would ride out and I could just nod my head, but as soon as it went 2 or 3 beats or whatever, it would stutter again. Also, the crash didn't ride out. Was that on purpose? I think it might've sounded a little cooler if the crash could reverberate a bit more, instead of ending mad suddenly when the beat would retrigger. That's just me, though. Shit was dope.

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

Yeah I have this inane obsession with making every sound as "dry" as possible and turning the release right down to 0. For some reason I've been making reverb my enemy lately with this subconscious idea that the reverb is artificially making my mixes better. So that's part of the reason why I shortened the crash, I just didn't want it washing over. Maybe it would be better if I included it, IDK.

OH! And also, I forgot. I actually sampled myself. So I created the beat, then I recorded it in Edison, so maybe that's why it's cut off as well. Although I don't recognize why I wouldn't record the whole thing...

I have that certain thing with stuttering, I tend to mess with the loop a little too much. Maybe I'm infatuated with the solo or something. ;)
