So, I'm back (after a totally self-imposed drama on the last song I posted a couple days ago :P). I finally figured out how to use VST plugins, and now I get a semi-authentic sounding strings track! Huzzah!
Much like Grasping, this one was born ofchord progressions I liked while playing around on the strings tone on my piano. Unlike Grasping, it's actually more interesting, if a teensy bit generic. I'd like to think that I've grown since 2014, after all.
Anyway, so I think every composer wants to try the Hans Zimmerman-style cinematic music at least once, so that's kind of what this turned into. My Hans Zimmerman rip-off piece. If not ripped off, then inspired by. Because that sounds nicer. I hate calling it a generic "Cinematic Music" thing, but I couldn't think of a name that was actually poetic and creative. If anyone has suggestions in that department, I'd love to hear them :)
Anyway, enjoy...or don't. It's up to you. If you don't enjoy it, please tell me why? Or you could just worship at my feet. I am a little attention whore deep inside, after all...
This is awesome, you nailed this style. Honestly this made me want to play Mass Effect. I can't give you any technical feedback because I'm no audio designer, but from a pure listener standpoint I was moved. It was moving =D
What I'd like to see next from you is something in the same vein but with a little more touch of your own style and individuality. While this was amazing, you are right it does feel very Hans Zimmerman.
I never thought of the Mass Effect side of it, but I can see what you're talking about. It always makes a musician ecstatic to know that their music touched someone, so thank you for that!
I was planning on playing around with this some more, this song was at least made in part to play with my new sounds. But there will definitely be more like this (well, not exactly like this...I like the chromatic palette, personally), and I'm so glad you enjoyed this so much! :D
