I consider myself something of a punk rock connoisseur, so this review was fun for me. So much of punk rock is about energy, and boy does this song have it.
Pros:
+ The energy this song has is undeniable.
+ The structure and time are great for a song of this style/genre.
+ The transition at 1:10 from your solo section to your downtempo/verse-ish section is really good.
+ The intro is basically perfect for this song.
Cons:
- It needs vocals. This is punk rock man! Find anyone who is mad about something and have them scream their heart out over this track!
- The levels are all over the place. In particular the guitar that starts at 0:35. Also the solo guitar.
- While forgivable for being awesome, the solo is a bit sloppy. I would recommend really trying to tighten up the song in general.
This song is unique, but at the same time reminds me of a lot of stuff I have heard from local punk bands as well underground touring bands that have came through my area. So much about punk rock is the setting and atmosphere. It's something that's really hard to capture in a recording session. I actually really dig the raw type of sound you are going for here. It really fits the song, but i feel like there some is refining to do here. Thanks for the good listen, it really brought back some memories of being at a local venue and drinking beer with buddies. Keep up the good work because you are headed in the right direction. 6/10
