The Final Masquerade

I originally had an acapella of Linkin Park's "Final Masquerade" over this, but the instrumental sounded way better so I cut the acapella altogether. Trust me, it sounded horrible and the acapella didn't fit the melody of the song at all. Still though, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

woah, i really liked this, the drums were very dark, it reminded me of Death Grips - No Love.

i feel like you could've used a more slower paced violin, it would be more effective and it would sound beautiful.

the drum loop also gets boring after a while, maybe change it up a little? like i dig the idea you're going with already, it would just add a cool touch to this track.

the reverb was nice, but i think you should tone it down a little. in the intro and so on.
but overall, this track was kinda mesmerizing to listen to.

Glad you liked it!

I was actually thinking the same thing about the violin before uploading. I had it slower at one point, but sped it up double to make it match the acapella a little more thoroughly. After taking out the acapella, I didn't change the BPM of the violin at all.

Drums really are my weak point. It's one of those things that I tend to brush off until all other parts of the song are done, and I rush through creating a decent sounding beat. I have transitions of instruments down perfectly, and transitions of adding in new drums (i.e. hats, clap, kick, snare), but I've never really toyed with changing the patterns of the beats at all. That's simply because I know that I would suck at it, haha. I'm used to making trance-type music, and the beats in trance aren't ever really changing all that much.

Reverb is something that I never know what is too much or too little. Simply, I always use the general rule that too much is way better than too little. Also, ReFX Nexus, which is a plugin I use if you're not familiar with it, automatically puts a ton of reverb on all of its presets. I don't mess much with the presets, which is pure laziness on my part I suppose, haha.

Thanks for your review though! They seem to be rare to come by these days on Newgrounds, especially the helpful ones such as yours.
