B7 - Nephalem

This could only really be called a metal tribute to the Diablo series. It uses a few different pieces from some older (think classic diablo) songs. But mostly that main one right in the beginning of the song. Don't worry, I try doing that justice later.

The Diablo series lies in my heart as one of the most beloved franchises of all time and I always knew it was just a matter of time before I decided to write a song around it's most recognizable motif.

(Obligatory Diablo Lore Quote LOL)
"And, alas, we are of our fathers and mothers, alike and yet opposite, one decay and the other light. Indeed, the union of angel and demon created a third essence. And we are those children. We are the Nephalem."

So there are certain parts of this song that I'm not happy with. One being how fucking loud certain parts are compared to others, which is my own fault since I'm not super great at working with Reaper to it's fullest yet. But I've been getting some more practice, so hopefully I can get some things sounding up to snuff sooner rather than later.

I plan on releasing an actual album-album when I have all the recording finished. Purely instrumental, but definitely decent. More on this later. In the meantime, you can check me out all over the internet because I'm a marketing whore. Just google "burn7". Sure, the first result will still be Newgrounds because yall are badass or whatever, but there's a decent amount of other things out there now. I have a few compilation albums I'm selling for sustain money, and I'm constantly updating my Soundcloud since it's audio features are WAY sexier than NG's.

Sorry Newgrounds I still love you tho.

I've never played Diablo, but I know good music when I hear it :P

Burn7 responds:

Heheh, well thank you kindly good sir. Regardless of the source material I'm glad you found something to like about this song :P

Welcome back to NG :P

Loving the guitar in this, epic.

I wouldn't get yourself too down over bits that make you unhappy, if it's anything like drawing, it'll only cause you problems to fuss over it, better to just move onto the next one, lesson learned :D

I shall keep an eye on sound cloud if that's where you've been hiding :P

Burn7 responds:

Hahahah well ty kind sir for checking up on me :3

I'm going to continue dropping a few things on NG as I work on a new album. It outta be fun :3

I always loved Diablo but only ever played the original, so if this is meant to be a tribute to the original I guess I should be first in line to get the full enjoyment out of it.

You do Diablo a great service with this track. There's a little bit of doom metal here which is very appropriate for what this is. A lot of what I heard was actually quite Dethklok-ish, which certainly wasn't unpleasant to listen to but was not quite as fitting.

As always, your style/recording quality/production are all on-point. Keep doing what you're doing.

Burn7 responds:

You know, I've had more people tell me my music reminds them of Dethklok over the past few months than I've heard anything else ever. Not that your comment is being drowned in a sea of others, just that I feel like I should take this time to reflect upon what that actually means, musically.

I'm super glad you did actually play the original Diablo, there was so much that I wanted to add into this song that I didn't get the chance to from that game. At 3:00 I tried to recreate the march beat from the Hell section but holy fuck if the guy who wrote their OST isn't insanely talented.

Anyway, I'm truly glad you liked it overall minus a few shortcomings. Thanks for taking the time to check it out :)
