For this, you have my love.
Sorry for the late response!
And thanks a lot :3
Brings back memories (and emotions). Second best FF series below FF7. Like how you changed the tempo a bit and added some improvisations, really made this song more powerful and emotional. Keep up the good work!
I totally forgot to reply to this review until now! Sorry D:
Thanks a lot though! :D
I definitely agree that FFX is the second best after FF7 (which is simply unbeatable, in my opinion). Nobuo Uematsu truly is a genius.
This is another piece I deeply regret neglecting to review when it was first released. I love the emotion and mood. It has a great sense of direction, too. Nice job with the dynamics and phrasing. I can't exactly give you points for originality (compositionally), but I still applaud you on a well-performed piece. The ups and downs of the piece really tug at my emotions. Nice job keeping up the mood! I'm not very familiar with Final Fantasy X, but this piece really puts an image in my head, which I love. Nice job, LSD! Keep up the inspiring work, and good luck in your final days in the army! ;D
Whoah, 4 new reviews from you while I was gone o.O
The only originality of mine in this piece is indeed the arrangement, so I forgive you for not giving me points for that XD
Final Fantasy X is a great game in my opinion, and I think in order to really understand the piece one needs to play it. Even better if one has played it during early youth, as nostalgia is (at least to me) what the piece delivers.
It's a beautiful piece to most any listener though, as far as I'm concerned :)
P.S. ONLY 10 DAYS LEFT!
Nice cover. I've never played the game, but I'm quite familiar with the piece and it still manages to have memories attached to it. And, I think, even the first time I heard "To Zanarkand", it somehow felt nostalgic. It is a wonderful composition.
Nostalgia is exacly the emotion I feel when listening to this piece. I think the same thing applies to most listeners :)
Thanks for your thoughts!
Excellent piece! I haven't played FFX in a really long time, but I do know that those soft keys just make me want to kiss my fingers and go "mwah." Wonderful playing. Hardly noticed the little tempo flub. Reverb was prominent enough to compliment the piece well, but subtle enough to not feel like I was in an unrealistically large hall.
You're a very talented guy, LSD! Keep on keeping on!
I haven't played the game in far too long either :(
I think I will replay it once I get the time :D
Good thing that the tempo fail isn't too obvious, or distracting. I usually use tons and tons of reverb on the piano, but I felt like this piece doesn't need an exaggerated amount of it; happy to see you share my opinion XD
Thanks a lot for all the compliments and for the review :3!!!
