It had been a reprovingly long time since our voyager had seen a cockpit from the inside. His reunion with his home planet had him staring at the sky at night. He barely slept. The life on planet Mizuti was not how it was when he left it and it seemed as though all manors of life throughout the systems had developed some degree of the affliction. Perhaps it was his imagination.
Eventually, he rejoined Unified Air. By request he was stationed alone at a research pod on Station H. His time was spent reviewing his findings and imagining how the life of Subject 00-001 might be at this point. However, he became less and less satisfied with the confines of his pod. He had no means of quenching his thirst for discovery. He barely slept.
In his dreams it was like they were never separated from each other. They were still plotting their eventual escape from GRUDGE-1. The memory-generated image of his afflicted partner had become his closed friend. Eventually, our subject had been successfully disconnected from the grudged mass. The two of them lived on the surface of the planet. The planet was all but dead without our subject's connection. Plans to leave were never considered. They were to wander with no end...
