I CAN feel the funk

I can dig it! At first I thought we were in for a Royksopp style funky lounge track. Excellent flute and those low passed pads that fade in every now and then are gold. The lyrics are well done, suits the mood of the track beautifully. I thought they dropped back at just the right time later on, would have loved some serious glich on them though or some mad panning theatrics or other ear candy.
What made the track for me were the 303's. I mean, you can't really go wrong with such a beast and you've worked them in wonderfully in this one. Great in concert with the flute. The phat 303 jam before the fade-out was the best I think, love that crunchy tone! Well, gotta check out part 2....need ... 303....

This is some serious kicking tuneage. Keep it up!

Splagawaga responds:

this was another very quick track so i didnt attempt much glitch, just solid fills etc. glad u liked to 303 style acid lines :) although, i have to say it wasnt actually a 303 i used, it was the subtractor and malstrom in reason with lots of filter automation. even so, i agree :)...need ... 303...

Very cool!

excellent. the beat was awesome aswell. nice pads. the voice was kind of funny. lol great track. gonna check out the second part!

Splagawaga responds:

hehe thanks alot majorclyde :) enjoy part 2 !

water can lol, or it can rofl

u know how much i love this track and lj's already written a fairly inteligent, comprehensive evaluation so i ain't gonna say much... or anything at all.

Splagawaga responds:

cheers buddy, the classic water-acid combo, magix indd

There's just something cool about shakuhachis and 303s. Acid and Kung-Fu.

So far, I really like how you've been pushing your timbres out every so often like someone came by asking "Gee what's this do mate?" and cranked a knob just a little too far for a moment.

Damn nice job all around - too bad there's that pesky little filesize limit - I was planning on downloading both parts and splicing them together - unless I can talk you into emailing a copy to me - if it's under 10MB then there shouldn't be any problems sending to multimediamaster@gmail.com

This is a bad-ass piece of music.

I'll listen for a while and leave more comments in a review for part 2.

5/5 for both parts

Splagawaga responds:

you're no slouch hehe, i went down to get a coffee and u sneaked a review already. u wont be able to splice them together because i edited the end of part one so it pitches down and reverbs (to signify my disappointment) ill email u the full track in a second. thanks for the swift review. and expect more funky acid soon.

I liked this song. very funky. I can understand why you had to split it in two. This may be one of my favorites. It was organized greatly. It wasnt to chaotic but just right. I hope you make more.

Splagawaga responds:

sweet :D some 1 who i didnt directly ask to give check this track out has found it anyway. thanks alot m8. i have lots more in this sort of style. although this is probly my most successful effort.

sly bastard will be uploaded tmrw. its a shame i can only upload 2 each day otherwise i would have loads of tracks up by now. thanks again
