Electronic - Drum N Bass

Author Comments

I figured out manual layering is EVERYTHING. Also found out some pretty neat tricks by accident. Instead of raising the volume for bass/kick/snare/etc... simply record over itself 2-3 times. It gives an effect that increasing the volume doesn't give. Layering the snare with itself, having one layer slightly detuned and a few milliseconds after the other gives it a lot of character.

This was mainly a concept tune using new mixing methods for practice. I'm FINALLY starting to get the reece bass I've been trying to create. Feels good. I just wish I had vocals.

look up parallel compression if you have the chance, it's pretty much what you're talking about, and it sounds amazing.

you need to do more of this stuff in the future.
there are a lot electronic artists on NG that never used parallel compression, so you messing around and getting parallel compression is narly man.
