Capital of Soot, revisited

Someone looking for a sad song? Here it is, I mean, here it is.
This is a rehash of Capital of Soot with better sounds and better mixing. I actually finished it in 2012, but here it is for your general listening pleasure.

The chords were partly inspired by Shimomura's work for Kingdom Hearts, partly by Keiichi Okabe's work for Nier, and partly by whoever wrote the soundtrack to Jak 3.

Used in this project:
Akai-Steinway III soundfont, by Denis.

Tubular Bells by Sonido media.

this is inspiring, brings FF7 in mind, amazing work, no criticism to say really, volume could be turn'd up a little, other than that its beautiful.

:O You got onto the Featured Audio! I've already listened to this one but didn't comment. I'm glad I didn't comment until now because now I can congratulate you..... Congrats!!!

This song is soo terrific on so many levels. I really could just listen to it all day. So peaceful. ^^

Troisnyx responds:

Eh, thanks ^_^ I'm just glad that you liked it so.

This is absolutely beautiful, I'll be keeping a close eye on you from now on.

Keep it up!

Troisnyx responds:

Oh boy, thank you! ^_^ You've got no idea how this made my day... I was journalling through a slow news day under cold, dark and grey British weather (you can guess how that's going) and all of a sudden, WHAM, I see your comment and it puts a big smile on my face.

This is very beautiful and sad, but I do have a big complaint. The beginning instruments are far too quiet. I'm straining to hear them, while the foreground piano is actually hurting my ears. I'm listening with headphones.

I really really love the composition other than the volume difference.

Cool tune! Sounds great and definitely fits the description/tags you gave it.
The violin towards the end didn't work for me, I would have used something less harsh sounding to fit the rest of the track. As is, it stands out too much.

I love it!
