Holy cow, the strings are awesome! Did you record them, or did you use a vst. If you used a vst, what did you use?
they were 8Dio Studio Solo Violin. The spiccato strings were from Orchestral Essentials.
Haha been awhile since I've commented on one of your tracks!
The string which is introduced at 1:00 onwards seems incredibly loud and piercing compared to the rest of the track, maybe a little bit too loud sadly. Your choice of Kick drum sample seems alittle bit weak for this piece as well. It sounds pretty organic like it's came straight out of a recording of an acoustic kit but doesn't seem tight or deep enough for it to work very well with the track overall.
Anyway, enough of me being picky! Classic and Dubstep sounds like some pretty hard work to get down correctly and I am of the opinion that you achieved your goal very well as a whole. With it being slightly slower and less bass-intensive than a typical Dubstep piece, it allows for us listeners to hear what is going on with the Classical/Orchestral side. How everything i presented is nice and neat and the notation is pretty damn good.
Shall be lurking in the background, ready to listen to more experimental/genre-fusion pieces you might do in the future!
I start to notice the beginning string was too loud. That was weird I didn't choose one of the more brutal drum samples from Damage and instead used FL Studio's samples. I shall fix these soon.
Thank you for the review :)
I love it; it's a wonderful mix between the violin and the dupstep :D
