I love the way the piano plays in the background of the song. The tolling of the bell in the background is perfect but if i would recommend anything it would to maybe slightly lower the effects volume as its slightly overpowering to the ears but not so much that an untrained ear would notice. As a fellow musician and artist i commend you on this excellent track sir it sounds beautiful and i see alot of potential in it . If youd ever like to remix this someday i feel that if you added some dubstep sounds into this track im pretty sure youd would get a lot of listeners. Keep the great work my brother for music is the window into the soul

That flute needs more reverb!

Chalk down another person who likes the +2 modulation towards the end. Though yeah it does start to feel a little repetitive. I like the swelling strings and the focus on piano.

As usual my main block is with melodies, but I feel like you made some strides in improving on that front. The one e.g. at 1:20 that just does D-E-D-E-D-E is definitely my favorite, it has a lot of emotion behind it. I think once you start putting countermelodies on top of it with other instruments you actually lessen the its power though. If you just had "D-E-D-E-D-E [4th bar arp fill]" and you repeated it a lot, this song could develop a lot of power behind it. To some degree that IS what you did, I just feel like the other melodies are worse and take away from the power of the "D-E-D-E-D-E" idea.

Anywho I felt like you definitely made improvements. Mixing is great, progression is meaningful, got dem feels pushing it forward, good work with the strings, blbalba etc. Prob my favorite of yours so far!

I actually downloaded this song and soloed over it in piano because I liked the progression:

MP3: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ddpa08n99pl00f6/soloz.mp3 (playing starts at 1:05)
MIDI (in case you want to do something with it): https://www.dropbox.com/s/5rqkcy0mff330gt/soloz.mid

Let me know if you do anything cool with it, otherwise I just hope it gives you a more concrete idea of the kind of melodies I was imagining.

One of the last things I did was lowered the reverb on the flute :(

Thankyou so much! The melodies you made are amazing and are much more complex and emotional than mine. I'll listen to this mp3 again before I make my next song, and hopefully it will give me inspiration to make better melodies :D

Overall a solid track that you should be proud of. I like the use of the different instruments that come in later in the song, ie. the bells, the strings and the flute. I always appreciate when a musician can work in orchestral instruments into a non-classical piece. My only criticism is that the chords don't really change throughout the song that much which makes it a little bit repetitive but that's really the only thing I can criticise you for. Again, it's a good track and I liked it a lot, especially in the latter third of the song.

Thank you for the review! Chord variation is something I need to improve on.

I honestly have never heard a depressing electronic song.
I never thought it was possible.
But here you are proving me wrong!
I loved it! It had lots of variety and I have been silently following you for a while now, but I just want to give you a review stating that this is something absolutely great!
Kudos on such a great job dude!

I love the emotion and instruments. Rhythmically, it's a little repetitive, and I'm not sure I liked the hat at :46 too much, but overall it's very good. I like the structure and transitions, and the contrast between electronic and orchestral sounds. I especially liked the flute at 2:35 and its melody. Your melodies are excellent, if a little simple, as always, and I think there was an appropriate amount of dynamic contrast. The modulations at 3:35 added a lot to the piece as well. Nice work, BO! ;D

I agree the song is repetitive, I will try to work on that next week.

Thank you for the great review! I'm glad you liked the pitch change at the end :D
