I like the atmospheric mood at the beginning and the synths. The relaxing melodies are good, and it definitely has a good sense of climax and direction throughout. It is a little simplistic and repetitive at times, though. The main melody recurs a lot during the first two minutes. I appreciated the variations you started incorporating around 2:30, though, but even those last for a lengthy 45 seconds. I didn't think this piece had to be 5.5 minutes long - maybe 3 or 4 instead. The structural relief at the breakdown at 3:14 was welcome, though. I think the chord progression is a little cliché, and I think you needed some more transitional variety besides the simple sweeps and crashes. That said, the mixing is pretty good, and I like how you concluded the piece. Overall, it's pretty good. I've been tough on you. The repetitiveness and simplicity are the main things, but keep up the good work, Tourmithefly! ;)
This music is smooth and mellow. Mmmmm. I would enjoy exploring a cave in a video game with this playing in the background. As repetitive as it is, it never annoyed or bored me. :D
Ahah, thank you! ^^ And yeah, I've repeated the main theme multiple times (Each time with different instruments playing, though.) so that you can hear the difference with the melody at 3:13, where it sounds more "tiny" and "alone". That's what make it so repetitive, but I personally think that it actually fits the song.
Huzzah! It is complete! I think it's an improvement on the WIP.
Ahah, thanks ^^
The WIP had a "canned" impression to it. I'm happy that I noticed it, or the finished song might have kept it and it wouldn't have sounded that good.
Thanks for the review!
That music would totally fit in a platform videogame like Cave Story , and it sound really good.
It sound a lot better than the last one, I can approve it
And yes, THERE'S ENOUGH BASS IN IT :P
4.9899/5.0000 because the perfection doesn't exist
Well, thank you ^^
And yeah, the bass in this song is calmer, but still present and I think it's perfect for the whole song :p
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
