Ah yes, I remember the days when I used 'pads and ambience' like this. You have an okay tune here, but there are two main concerns.
The first one is technical. I'm not sure if you notice, but at every high point of the song, it cracks. This is due to the combined frequencies of the song overloading the program. (FL Studio, in this case) To help fix this, Fruity Limiter is useful, which can be found on the Mixer. If you are unfamiliar with how to use these tools or where to find them, consulting an FL Studio tutorial would be helpful.
The second one is in the tone of the song itself. It definitely feels like a first song, and by that, I mean it doesn't have much personality. When making music, you want to create something that tells an interesting story, or fleshes out an interesting scenario. This, of course, is one of the hardest things to learn when composing, and everyone has to learn it a different way. As such, the only thing I would recommend is to just keep making new songs, notice over time which songs endear to you more than others, and listen to other peoples songs that you find you enjoy, doing the same test of endearment with them.
Well thanks for the review Fubaka!
The cracks in the song were pretty intentional actually, I actually like the noise, reminds me of a game called Machinarium which has a few crackles in their music, if I recall.
But thank you for telling me how to fix it, it'll definitely be useful in the future!
But I know what you mean with the thing being a bit soul-less, this is the first song I've done in a while, and it'll take me a while to get in the groove.
