When writing this song, the sense of dread you speak of came to me in the form of a time-based disaster. In the song's sub-story, I had it where something happened to make the flow of time reverse, thus resulting in the unraveling of mankind, and life in general.

This song to me represents what you would see on the coastline just at the time where the Cambrian era switches back to pre-Cambrian.

I do intend to release more songs with this reverse motif, though they may actually not be as dreadful as the scenario I described. At any rate, however you want to view that disaster, it can't be said that it doesn't inspire awe to watch the arrow of time in reverse.
