The Stormy East

Happy Christmas to everyone, but especially to wandschrank, to whom this piece is dedicated.

This was originally found in my WIP/Reject Reel as "Where the Sun Rises First, Version 1" and stewed in my drives, unfinished for nearly two years..... but in light of the recent storms that have hit the South of England, the East Coast and Blackpool..... and in light of wandschrank's request, I refashioned it a little bit.

I'm aware the 8-bit sounds a bit out of place, but I decided to take some liberties with this piece per wandschrank's request. And they went slightly.... or depending on your taste, horribly wrong.

Also crediting AlbertStClare for the inspiration, since he heard the initial version of this song before I remade it as this, and gave quite a bit of input on the song's direction.

I have a feeling this song will need a Version 2 pretty soon.....

Beautiful voice yeah !
The violin sounds a little bit too cheap for me but the track is interesting though.
However i love the chiptune sounds !

Troisnyx, you have a beautiful voice, it has the quality of a trying person in it.

Having heard the originals of this, I cannot say I think this much of an Improvement; the electronic Sounds are entirely out of Place, and produce a most displeasing discord that dampens my Enjoyment of the original Melody, which I think is one of your better Creations. As for the Vocals, while they do no Harm, I did not feel as though they particularly added anything, and they might have proved a little distracting. The Melody itself is the strongest Part of this one, and adding too much Clutter is really only getting in the Way.

This said, the Melody itself is worth more than 3.5 Stars, but Points have to be lost for what does not work.

I remember hearing the original on your SoundCloud reel and wondering, "Why wasn't that released as an actual track? It sounds so cool!".

I think the 8-bit edge you implemented is a little out of place, yes. But that's just from my perspective. It is an interesting mix, if I give it a few listens. The way it abruptly kicks in at 1:45 makes for an odd-sounding part of the piece, though. Same applies to the 'blips' that jump in around the 2:27 mark, although I compliment your attempt on giving it a pixel-esque, videogame sound.

The triumphant bells, strings and your melodic vocal accompaniment is an excellent combination and really defines this. I've seen some of Albert St Clare's reviews: the man is truly in-depth on the audio-reviewing side, a real asset by the looks of it.

The first track in your WIP / Reject Reel is magical, I always return to listen to that piece, even if it's a short draft.

Anyway, marvellous work once more and it's always a pleasure to see something new from you, Troisnyx. Keep it up!
