an older piece based on a bit of a gimmick
the idea here was to only use monomate for ALL of the sounds, and then touch them up with some camel plug-ins (CamelSpace, mostly (cuz it's the wackiest))
so, monomate is a very simple monophonic VSTi made by Tweakbench, who is basically just one guy who develops a bunch of plug-ins, many of which are retro sounding, super accessible mini-synths, which you can download for free if you're at all interested in old-school chiptune-ish sounds, or you can support him by buying a bundle that includes everything for $5 (It's Windows only, though). I'm not really affiliated with him, so I'm basically just advertising for fun, though I do also have a lot of respect for indie dudes doing their thang, so there's that
the piece itself is an interesting concoction
since I technically couldn't use chords, I have a bunch of arps and other layers that sorta fill up the harmony
some of the camel fx may be too extreme with disproportionate amounts of resonance and such, but oh well
I guess balancing shit correctly will remain a task the subtleties of which will elude me forever! LOL

This song is great, real interesting.
Okay, my one problem with this piece is that highpass filter fill can get pretty annoying after a while. But damn, dude, this is tight as hell. What can I say? Everything's good. I'm a sucker for arps. And saw basses are even starting to grow on me now.

idk if the ng system is messed up, but it seems like at least one of my pieces usually ends up on the "most popular" list most of the time, unless I stop posting for a couple of weeks
there are so many good artists on newgrounds who remain unnoticed just because their initial view counts are low
