VAC 11 Judge Review:

Nice acting. I could tell there was distinction between characters, though the first and second caller sounded very similar to me. Nice background ambience that cradled the mood effectively and the mixing was clear with a few perfectly done effects. The dialogue was just very predictable and cheesy and the plot itself kind of fell off at the end. His father disowning him so nonchalantly didn’t seem like the kind of climax to signify an end. I guess the script all just hovered on the same frequency with no huge ups or downs. Other than that, I thought your acting fit the characters and there were no technical issues. I just wish the words they were saying were different lol. Good work!

Sorry for not writing you a review sooner. Since you reviewed mine, I might as well return the favor.

First off, the writing is quite good. It's a simple concept, but it definitely showcases the woes and hardships involved in telemarketing. Plus, it doesn't try so hard to grab the listener's attention, which is always admirable. I think it suits the First theme quite well.

Second, I like the mixing. The work office ambiance really adds a nice touch to the environment. The vocals sound clean and crisp, too. Plus, the lack of sound effects actually suits this very well. Nothing too complicated and nothing that would grab the attention away from the story.

Lastly, the voices. I felt like there could have been a bit more variation, especially since I thought both the co-worker and Ben sounded kinda alike. However, it's a minor gripe since they are well portrayed. They were believable and didn't feel forced or monotone.

Overall, a nice job on your part. I say you stand a grand chance at the contest. Good luck.

Lastly,

I have done phone tech support some time ago and I have to say people are great lol. As far as voices I like the personalities could have used some variation some were a splash similar all in all good work made me laugh.

This is awesome you're a great voice actor
and we're both fans of doctor who but thats not relative to this submission

ecopper12 responds:

Thanks! I really appreciate the compliment.

And neat! Yeah, my friend got me in to Doctor Who when Series 6 was on the halfway wait, and I watched every episode from 2005 onward and got caught up in time to watch it when it came back on TV. Now I watch it all the time when its on. xD

This is a great entry :D I think the writing stands out, since it's not especially over the top trying too hard to be funny and there's no lewd humor like most of the other entries (my own, included). The office ambience was an especially nice touch.

The only voice I think that might need a little work is Benjamin. The acting and delivery is great, though I think he sounded a little too much like the coworker. Otherwise, all of the voices were pretty distinct.

And that ending XD Poor Daniel.

I think you have a really good chance in this contest :3 Good luck!!

ecopper12 responds:

Thanks for the critique! Yeah, when I was formulating the voice for Benjamin, I couldn't really figure out what voice I wanted for him, so I just kinda winged it. xD Thanks for the luck, and I wish you the same!
