I was 16 when I wrote this, and my aim was much the same as it is today. I just want to share my thoughts and emotions through music. I know this isn't like what most have usually heard, so it might just be... different to you.
I think it might be worth noting that when I refer to "Fighting for what you think is right", I didn't and don't mean actually physically fighting. Rather, I mean standing up and being unafraid to express your views. The term "fighting" suggests struggling against someone or something with opposing views on how the outcome should go.
Standing up and speaking out for peace against colossal societal pressure to support war is, in and of itself, a fight that could leave any man breathless, broken, beat, and scarred.
I created this song to be appealing to those who wish to fight in SOME way, to stand up for themselves and the ones they love, even if it means killing, but I threw in my own beliefs within my metaphoric assurances that I know how they feel.
I just want the wars to stop.
I wrote the lyrics to this song as I was walking home from school, Junior year. 2009, I think it was. But no matter what it sounds like to /you/ I hope you can enjoy it. Peace!
