The song overall seems a bit repetitious, but the beat is still pretty cool. I would suggest taking out the kick drums that happen at the same time as the synth, and have the kick drum just less frequent. I'm having a bit of a hard time explaining that; listen to Hucci - House Party and how the kick drum doesn't happen with the syllables and it flows a lot better. The song needs more moments to help make less repetition. It's a really good start though.
i was going for something along the lines of dopeboy by butch clancy, like a really low slung march. more moments though, i like the sound of that
Nice work! That 808 kick was awesome - and it sounded like you adjusted the tail which made it fit alot better in the other sections and accentuate the drops
I did like that rhythm that the main melody and kick both played on the drops but I think especially on the first bar or two of the drop that it didn't really groove well
that said once the hats came in - which were perfectly done may I add it made it sound alot nicer
Only other thing I can think to add is crank up some more reverb on the synths and add a few more effects to make it sound less empty
overall though, i'm loving it
I feel like a snare would have fit in better than a clap. As it currently is, the hats don't seem to fit in with the clap (to me anyway). The hat sample itself is good though (sounds great in the build-up)
Cool pitchy thing at 1:39; works well for the next buildup. I think the main lead synth could use some portamento, as that seems to be the trend for most trap blips I've heard so far.
Overall though, pretty gangsta.
IT'S A TRAP
I don't like trap so I'm not the one to review this or rate it, but it's well put together and well mastered so I give 5/5 on that account.
Nice work with the tick in the background, too. Around the 00:50 mark where it gets a little quieter and comes back in? That sort of slick subtle handiwork will get you all the bitches.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
