This is the instrumental for a song I've been working on for a few months. By that, I mean that I haven't done the vocals yet and it's taking me months, hah!

The story (once the vocals are put to it, I'll post the lyrics) is about a man who's mind is transfered to an alien being's body, the alien's mind being inadvertently displaced in the process (that last bit isn't integral to the story, nor is it mentioned in the song, but I feel I should add it). The body he obtains can not do much, but absorb cosmic knowledge, which let's him understand that (in the fictional universe he's in) time's purpose is not being fulfilled and that it can never be corrected, therefore, all is doomed and blah, blah, he goes insane.

DAW: Fruity Loops and Audacity

Samples: I created them.

The instrumental seems a bit all over the place, but maybe once the lyrics are added it'll be better. You might want to get a brighter sounding instrument for the lead synth of the beat switch up at the 1:27 mark. Try to add some additional sounds and details throughout to make it sound fuller overall. I'd suggest playing around with more quality instruments too if you have access to FL Studio. Overall this instrumental is going in a good direction but I feel that it needs more work.

All of your suggestions are things one would only do if they weren't going to add vocals. :\

I'm using FL9.

What in the fuck are you talking about making the lead brighter? I have no idea which instrument you are referring to since there isn't much of a lead melody at that point.

In any case, the instrumental is finished. Just need to add the vocals.
