This project was started in December 2012. I was originally trying to make a classical piece; the instrument at the very beginning is actually a browser preset which FL Studio calls a "string." I didn't make any significant progress on this until April 2013. This is another piece that I tried to take in a number of different directions, most of which failed. I finally finished this in early September 2013. It's about 9 hours worth of work in FL 10. The bridge in the middle was inspired by Calvin Harris' "I Need Your Love." Thanks for listening, and enjoy! :D

Thank you very much for reviewing again! :D Interesting how you find it mellow - I was going for a harsher sound, especially with the chords. Really appreciate it, though. ;)

great job. the starting and ending slow sets a good town for the song. i think that if you had it get even more up beat as you get close to center for the song it would sound just that much better.

Thank you very much! :D I love unexpected reviews! ^^ I understand your criticism and I appreciate your compliments. Thank you! ;)

Whoa whoa whoa.

Those string pad swells at the beginning sets a nice tone for the rest of the track. Around :24, I really like the low bass synth portamento down to the drum section - nice touch! Good ambience feel from then to around :55. The pluck synth is nice here, but when the last of the three note pattern gets off beat, it feels slightly weird. Then at the bridge, when it starts getting more melodic, the synth does a nice job there. Breakdown to the bass synth at 2:15 - I really like that portamento! Nice job man. Overall, good ambience feel, good structuring. I enjoyed this! Keep it up my friend ^__^

Thank you so much, Lockyn! :D You're being too nice to me! I'm glad you like my portamentos, but I personally think I use the slide tool way too much! I understand your criticism about the awkward rhythmic shift. I had really tried to force that riff at 1:10 into the song too much. Thanks a lot, though! I really appreciate the support! :D

Wow, I really like this

It could have been a bit more subdued and reverby, but you'll learn how to do that in time

If I may, this sounds a lot more like the ambient/misc category than techno though

Thanks a lot, Malifex! :D I agree about the "subdued and reverby" comment, but I wanted it to sound angry and unpolished like this. I actually considered putting this song under a lot of different genres, so I understand your last comment, too. "Techno" seemed like a good "middle-ground," if you know what I mean. Thanks again! ^^

Im not wearing headphones this time so I can't really critique your mixing as much as I did last time. The drum beat sounds a lot better this time. I noticed you even added reverb to the clap! :D

I think you should have made the strings lower in volume but added a lot more reverb. I think the song was missing a lot of reverb, but that could just be my taste.

Compared to the last couple songs I reviewed, this one sounds like you put in significantly more time and effort, but I think you can still put in more time into your songs for better results.

I liked the synths you used and the melodies.

Thanks so much, BlueOceans! :D It means a lot to me that I showed improvement from one track to the next. I think the clap actually came with reverb (it's a browser preset), but I understand your comment about how it needs more reverb. I wanted it to sound edgy and gritty rather than smooth. The instruments are mostly from TS404 and 3xOsc, with some presets. I'll keep working on really mastering my tracks! Your reviews are much appreciated, man! ;D
