NGADM Round 2 Reviewz0rz

What I liked:
- Very clean playing, excellent guitar tone.
- The riffing was quite unique and varied.
- The little variation on the riffs was well placed and didn't at all feel out of place.
- Awesome solos and harmonies.

What I didn't:
- While the riffing was varied, there was a couple sections where I felt the background riff could have used a bit more to keep it interesting instead repeating itself.
- There wasn't really a climax at all, and it carried more or less the same feel all the way through, which makes it difficult for any part of the song to really stick out.

Overall:
Excellent riffing, excellent execution and interesting riffs, even if the background riff at some points felt a little repetitious. Would have liked to hear some sort of climax or rise in the music to really have one part of the song hit home. But great song nonetheless.

NGADM Round 2 Review

Interesting title! To me, the introduction screams Iron Maiden. Anyway, this is a fantastic piece and I think it is a solid representation of what instrumental metal music is all about. Your skill with a guitar is excellent, I am certainly envious of your ability to play with such prowess. There is so much variation going on in this piece that it is astounding, not one section of the track sounds like the other. I really like how you have incorporated the strings into the latter half of the song, they fit incredibly well. Going back to the guitar, it sounds amazingly clear and every note rings with absolute precision and pitch.

Unfortunately, the mixing could use some work. I loved the addition of the strings, but they held very little power or presence in the song. The same could be said for the bass, too. However, the guitar and percussion seemed to enjoy a comfortable balance in terms of mixing. The conclusion was kind of anticlimactic. I was awaiting a tremendous conclusion, but was greeted with a mellowed trailing of the guitar and strings. Based on the rest of the song, it was like day and night. Other than these nuances, I could find little to nitpick over haha!

Love the song, would love to hear more stuff like this. I am looking forward to your next track! :)

I ain't a judge for round 2, but I figured I'd stop by and say this track is fucking awesome. You've really outdone it with the melodies here and I can see you've took my advice with switching things up! Production is sweet, melodies rock, guitar playing is killer.

Hi.

The Good:
-I may not be a person interested in heavy metal as much, but I can appreciate the rhythmic chucking and the background in this.
-The amount of variation in this is nice, the different melodies you have are good to hear. Composition is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
-Your glitchy panning effects are sweet, it'd be awesome if you used more panning throughout.

The Not-So-Good:
-There are some mixing issues. The synths are drowned out at about 0:29-0:50, and this muddies up the mix as well. This applies later in the piece as well - it sounds as if you're not used to mixing many instruments at once. This is understandable - it IS more difficult - but it's still a problem.
-The burst at about 0:53 sounds really like, what. What did you do there? Same goes for the burst at 2:40.
-The variation is awesome, but there are only two sections which are really related, beyond that it's a bunch of various styles and melodies that aren't necessarily related. Would be awesome if you could reuse some of the other melodies, such as the one from the beginning.

Overall: Score of 7.6/10. The mixing is the biggest issue, the only other major issue was the lack of consistency - you can reuse a melody from another section, not necessarily even as another melody!
