As a seasoned FL Studio user, the recognition of these pre-packed synths would normally make me want to facepalm, but this song is so deliciously old-school and reminiscent of Doom, that I couldn't possibly do that. Quite a job you did, here. The only problem I have is the abrupt ending-- I recommend working on an outro note, or something of a slight space, otherwise it sounds like it is meant to loop, or transition into another track on an album.
You're on the right track, though!
Let me know if you ever need some synth recommendations, too. I have 70+ in my repertoire that I can let you know about!
Thanks for the detailed feedback on the track. I'll admit, I was very lazy on the outro, but I will make some revisions at a later date, there are a couple of other things I would like to add too, in hindsight. I'm in the process of selling a few things and acquiring a new portable grand piano, so I will be able to dedicate a lot more time to all my music projects and try to keep improving everything to another level higher.
I'm more than happy to hear some of your synth recommendations.
This is great! I like to feel of this song. I'm new to flash and I'm working on a game... can I use this music for it?
Yes, no problem, feel free to use the music for your project.
Nice to hear that you like the track.
Nicely done on this. Although I think if you had the crash come in a little sooner (say the last 2-3 seconds) and fade it out would give it a more natural end to the song instead of just having it cut off. Even if you decide not to fix it in this maybe keep that in mind for the next song you do.
Yes, no problem, I will take into account your feedback man.
Thanks for listening.
Really smooth, like liquid. Overall good feel. I don't really like the ending of the track, it just sort of cuts or drops off, I don't know if that was the originally intended result or not. Anyways, keep it up and good job!
I'm happy that you enjoy the general feel of the track. That's usually my aim really, just to have a melody that is kind of catchy, more than perfecting little things here and there. I love making melodies and the mixing aspect first and foremost. It remains a labour of love if I keep things that way instead of worrying about approaching it with an 'I must get this right' attitude.
It wasn't my original intention to have the end cut off, although after spending ages on the track, I didn't have the patience to start touching bits up.
Maybe one day I will create a neat end to the track, but nobody knows when that will be. It could be five years from now. It could be ten years from now.
But one thing is certain!
I could listen to this until midnight, but if I listened past that point I'd probably turn into a gremlin.
This review is Insanely Well Received! By sane people.
