Very ambient introduction. The strings sound great! I like the texture you’re creating. Very atmospheric, I could see this being in a movie for sure. The minimalist section after the intro is a bit lacking… perhaps maybe some more sound-design elements would really make it shine, maybe some different percussion. Just as things pick up at 1:25 and I’m expecting it to get really big it backs off. This would have been a great place for a climax. Really great string work following that, though, definitely sounds “Hollywood”. Again you start to build and then just sort of fade away… I’m left wanting more! Though, the piano in the background brings consistency as you transition from section to section. All in all a great piece. You’ve got talent in both composition and production. Great job!

Score: 8.5/10

What a lovely track. I can't stress how much I like your approach. It's a very soft track but still has a certain power and statement to it that you don't quite find often in orchestral tracks on Newgrounds. Your composition is beautiful, as is your atmosphere-building. Despite using typical orchestral instrumentation, you manage to somehow create a unique airy atmosphere that I absolutely love to bits. I very much enjoyed all the different layers of rhythmic, harmonic and melodic elements. Even though the track is soft, there's a lot more going on than one would initially think. I don't know exactly why I like this so much, but I really do, and yeah I realise that's the most unprofessional thing that I, as a judge, can say!

The song can get a bit boring at times, which is perhaps due to the fact that the dynamics are a bit lacking. I mean, the track has its moments, and there are some clear sections where everything dies down, but volume-wise, I'm really not feeling the more dramatic moments. Everything feels very soft, even when it shouldn't be. It even makes it quite hard to enjoy the track without turning my volume up. Now I'm definitely not saying that you make this a loudness war. The softness of this track is just beautiful. However, in the more intense moments, I would like a deeper, thicker arrangement with a more clear contrast from the soft sections.

Anyway, that was an extremely pleasant listen. Brilliant work!

Great Job! I truly enjoyed the piece for the images it brought to mind. Specifically, "Last of the Mohicans" after the character Daniel Day Lewis portrays, loses his brother.

Starting at 0:32 - 0:33 there's a horn solo that does two notes high-low and then very little else moving until it picks back up at about 0:39. When listening to it, I was almost expecting a soft echo or soft dissonent of those two notes (somewhere between the thuds) leading into the rest of the section.

I loved the buildup you used starting at 1:40 into the section at 2:02. Very dramatic and one can imagine a heavy decision and action has been made by the main character.

Overall great piece and good luck in the NGADM!

wonderful piece! I love your rhythmic style, as well as your string dynamics and soundscapes. I could totally hear this in a Japanese action/thriller film. I think the timing of the horn melody is a little off? I can't quite tell if that's what you were going for or not. but overall, I'm super impressed! between you and PeterSatera, this is quite a match up! =)
