something happens - perhaps you revisit an old place, perhaps you see something you haven't seen in a while, and an old memory is retriggered and you are transported back to when you were a child.

written as a quick respite from my NGADM piece. It only took me about an hour to write this! my NGADM thing is coming though ;-)

I like that background ambiance with the children playing. I guess if I would have used such ambiance it would result in a very dark and sad song probably, but that's due to my past. Feels good to listen to this instead.

Thanks, and I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your days now are more happy.

I liked it a lot. If I had to nitpick though is that the frequencies seem a bit muddy to me (especially on the piano/guitar). I like the story you portrayed though.

johnfn responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! (Also, glad to see you're still around!) The muddiness was like 30% intentional, because I feel like sounds that have more reverb and are more blurry feel more like memories to me. I can understand that towards the end there is a bit too much though, especially towards the higher frequencies...

Again thanks for dropping by!

Very relaxing and pretty! :D The children's voices were a nice touch, too. I liked the instruments and mood a lot. The transition into 1:19 felt a bit sudden, but I liked the variety you attempted there. It's nice for some easy listening, and I like the ending a lot too! ;) Great job, Johnfn. If this is just a "quick respite," I'm really excited to see what you upload for NGADM! :D

johnfn responds:

Thanks man! You have a good ear, I usually can't hear transitions (even bad ones!) in other people's pieces until someone point them out to me. And yeah this one was particularly bad, haha. Glad you liked the rest of it though. NGADM piece is coming out later today or tomorrow, looking forward to hearing what you (and everyone else...) have to say about it!
