Here's my entry for round 1 of the NGADM 2013. Interpret it as you will. I hope you enjoy the piece, otherwise I have just stolen upwards to 2 minutes and 27 seconds of your life.

UPDATE - 02/16/2015: I uploaded a remastered version of this track.

Reviews

This is actually one of my all-time favorites now.
Generally, I think it reflects the theme of "flight" quite well. It sounds majestic and also passes a certain sense of "freedom", if you see what I mean.

The only part that slightly annoys me is 1:50 to 2:00. To me, it seems like a rushed drop from "climax" to "resolution", and it seems out of place. In an otherwise calming track, it sticks out like a sore thumb as I find it too loud and abrupt, and it simply seems out of place.

Regardless, it's a great track overall and I'm not going to let 10 seconds of it ruin the entire thing for me. Keep up the great work!

NGADM Round 1 review.

---

First, I must say that this piece was incredibly impressive! Everything from the mixing, to the quality of the instruments, to the thoughtful, and meaningful spirit of this track is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, superb. Now...let's begin, yes?

Right from the get-go, we have a subtle, yet incredibly powerful introduction with that enchanting choir. When you combine those delightful voices with the emotional, tense strings, it creates a notion of both a soothing nature that happens to enthrall the listener at the same time. Wonderful! This sensation continues up until 0:39 when things become quite interesting. The percussion begins building perfectly with the pacing of the strings and woodwinds to create that sense of grandeur. The woodwinds are majestic. They float just above the other instruments in a fanciful sort of way, as if to give a nod to the title and motif of the song.

When we finally reach the end of the grand buildup and the climax of the song , everything seems far too compressed, you know? Particularly from 1:53 – 1:59. While this only lasts for a few seconds, when you compare it to the soft and delicate conclusion, there is a real imbalance. Regardless, the conclusion fits the song well.

Overall, this track is superb. I am looking forward to your next submission. Well done! :)

Score: 9.5/10

esta cancion que creaste, expresa todo lo que el titulo indica, cada parte de la cancion me hace imaginar todo un escenario en donde la persona va creando esa posibildad de volar y el resultado excitoso que obtiene. gran cancion y felicidades

This definitely captured the essence of first flight although I would've liked sort of a bit more dramatic beginning.
