The river flows slowly in a world drained of it's colors.

Good song. I think it would sound great in your new game. I think sometimes some of the notes sound very dissonant. I don't know why that is. Maybe there are a few errors, or instruments are a little out of tune, or it could be just my imagination. I also think you should pan the instruments more. That may solve the dissonance issue. It would loop very well if you time it right. I like how the instruments sound simple and pure.

frootza responds:

Thanks SJ! I never applied any panning which was stupid of me, I should fix that. Good call! I definitely should have. Asian instruments do tend to sound off tune at times. And hmm.. Good point, maybe we'll include this one in game! Thanks for pointing out the panning issue!

As a minimalist piece, it's quite enjoyable. It has a good tone, good beat, and a decent amount of variety. However, as a cinematic piece, I don't feel this makes the cut. It seems more appropriate in other categories.

The song is nice, but it doesn't really stand out. However, if you were to build off of what you have here you could undoubtedly make something far stronger.

frootza responds:

Hey Nazarak! Thanks for the review. Definitely will not be building on this piece at all. It was meant to be a minimalist track with the limitation of a maximum of 4 instruments playing at once, that is how it will stay. If not Cinematic, which category do you think suits the piece best? Feel free to send me a PM with the categories you feel this is more suited towards.

Soothing and sad. After reading Alexier's comment this little battleworn samurai gif is looping in my mind now haha. Anyway thank you for sharing this little gem frootza.

frootza responds:

Not a problem Lost! I love writing music! Thank you very much! Asian instruments tend to sound very bright and energetic in tone, but in this piece I tried to create a somber monochromatic mood :D

Wow, this was very relaxing. Like a lone Samurai Warrior relaxed after a long battle, standing over a cliff in his battle-worn armor next to a sakura tree flowing in the wind. He watches the golden sun set behind the mountains in the distance. Long description short, it was beautiful.
