Had to make a song inspired by a piece of original artwork from New Grounds.

I chose 'Starjumpbridges' by Kamikaye: /art/view/kamikaye/starju mpbridges?context=ratings :et.sort:1.offset:237

Hmm...the artwork was already used, but oh well. This is nice but, it's missing quite a bit in terms of depth and composition. Not a bad start though, but it feels too fast for the first 40 seconds, and at parts of this song it clips in the mixing. The second part of this song has potential but really needs to be slowed down. It would also make up some for the shortness of this piece, 2 minutes is quite short. Not bad but really needs work.

Well, I tend to have a soft spot for Piano. Let's review, shall we?

The intro was very composed, as was most of the song. However, and I'll get to this more in-depth later, the Piano simply lacked emotion. It was rather dull. Overall though, I did enjoy the beginning melody.

The main melody of the piano was rather, how should I say, bland. Throughout the song your piano lacked any variation in velocity or speed. It had a very computerized feel to it, and much of the composition of that main theme of the piano was lost due to the machine-gun effect of the piano. Try to add variations in the velocity and speed, or even better - get a MIDI keyboard and play it yourself. Trust me, there is no substitution for a real-life piano player.

Now, on to the climax of the song. Your other instruments also suffer from the "machine gun" problem, but they do also sound nice which does bring a little life back in to the song. Also in the climax there was some sort of buzzing or clicking going on. You may want to preview your songs more before you publish. Something always gets ya.

Overall though this song was not bad and DOES NOT deserve anything lower than a 3. However, it could also be improved greatly and there is a lot still to be worked on.
