Do I hear some influences from the song "Sail" by Awolnation?
Mmmhm~ Although, with a lack of that perf singing voice, I had to improvise a few melodies of my own. >.<
Really awesome man, nothing else nicer than this will ever show up i presume but if you can try making a better one THE SKY IS THE LIMIT MAN
I loved the opening but I wasn't fond of the bass, and reminds me a lot of the song "sail" by AWOLNATION because it sounds a lot like it, beat wise and melody wise. With that put aside, this piece itself is well mixed and has some good elements to it, but after the opening I feel instead of carrying more or rising to something more dynamic, it becomes more empty. I didn't really like the bass synth but if it were more like around 4:02 and really built from that it would've been better carried. Overall, not bad, this piece has potential and has a sense of atmosphere, but it needs to be built on.
I completely understand what you mean. I wanted to go so many more places with it, but every which way I went it seemed to fall apart in my hands, so I reduced it a bit back to the version I had to start out with.
I will admit "Sail" was a pretty big inspiration, just for the matter of providing some sort of format for my song to take, since it was in a style that I'm not usually used to mixing >.<
Anyways, I suppose I'll keep at it and see if I can finally find the right piece to expand the track in the future. :3
Such a boss song, I'm humbled and really glad that a kickass producer like credited me for the inspiration.
This reminded me of Radioactive - Imagine dragons. But when I searched up ad compared the songs, they fall quite different. I do not know why it reminded me. Other than that, I like the progression. The emotions could I imagine is from a futuristic game. Nothing much to say for the mixing either. Maybe a little less distortion on the bass in the intro. But overall its a good work!
I listened to all the entries and your piece in my opinion is within the top 13.5 at least! Keep it up, and good luck!
Awesome, thanks for the feedback! Since the deadline got extended a bit I'm probably going to redo the outro and play with the mix a tad, so hopefully it'll be even better.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
