EDIT:

I've received a private message from username RealAphrodite, who has also left a review here, and made this statement:

"Hey,
I was pretty surprised when I saw that there was a Newgrounds post on the first paragraph of a completed story of mine. It seems someone named Elixur took the opening, which I posted to another site for review, and took it as his own. While I'm flattered by the fact that you found it good enough to narrate, I was wondering if you might be able to edit the title so that it is not by Elixur, but rather, someone anonymous? I'm currently in the process of trying to get the piece in question published, so I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks."

My standpoint is that I have no standpoint. The debate of who actually wrote this isn't for me to decide. I've told the anonymous accuser that I'll gladly put their website/writer's name/social networking/link to the book on display should they ever decide to provide me with it. I've requested Elixur's thoughts, and so far he has not replied.

Until I've got more to offer, let it stand that this piece may or may not have actually been written by Elixur.

I'll soon edit the intro to this piece to reflect the situation.
___

"Aphrodite" written by Elixur (or completely anonymous person).

One night I almost got sober on accident and stumbled through the writing forum instead. Ta-da!

I was gonna paste the original text but it wasn't pasting with line breaks, and fuck putting in the effort to do it myself. Here's a link instead!

Funny story. I actually wrote this.

I posted "Aphrodite" anonymously to another website for review. It wasn't actually called "Aphrodite," that's something Elixur came up with randomly. Apparently Elixur thought my opening was good enough to steal and call his own. In truth, what he stole is only the start of a 357 page, completed book which I'm in the process of sending out to publishers in hopes of it becoming a legitimate work.

Just thought I'd get the truth out there. I think it's pretty cool stumbling across someone narrating my work, so I definitely don't want this taken down, I just want people to know that Elixur didn't write this.

I did.

Gianni responds:

I've responded to your private message.

At first, my mind stuttered to comprehend the story. Then, emerged from the story the concept of a zombie, roaming through the streets of a forgotten city, through hordes of the undead, listless. Then, after she was hit, and carried by the man, a concept came to mind of a stray cat, malnourished, being taken to a clinic by the concerned man. After having taken her to the clinic, he put her in the vets' care, but still watched, out of concern, as they did their best to heal her of her pain. And then it ended, with a warm embrace, and not even a whimper.

Gianni responds:

That's a great interpretation of the tale. This review is more for Elixir than I it seems. My own interpretation was a bit more literal and a little less cool, reminding me of either an intro or an open ended outro to a story in a world like either Mad Max or Journey. But hey, I was never recording it to pretend I could really wrap my own head around it.

And fuck you for making me think about dying cats.

Holy shitpoop! You're good. Really good. I love watching you grow better and better every damn year.
I... I'm gonna use you someday (sounds so dirty).

Gianni responds:

Ready for filthy use.

This is very impressive! I felt grittiness and realism, and yet a touch of fantasy as well. And a lot of endurance in your voice too. Thanks for the experience!

David

Gianni responds:

Thanks for listening.

Well read sir! I like this piece. I am glad to see you keeping at it! You are too good to go to waste.

Gianni responds:

Ah, you. <3
