Inspired by keepwalking's "Golem vs Mech"

I'm quite happy with how the song turned out, almost like a film score or something.

EDIT: Played around additionally with the piano to get some variation.

A little panning and adjustments to the levels too.

Sound: There are mixing issues abound here, along with quite few things you can do to expand your sound and make it sound more epic.

Composition: The composition style is pretty straightforward, yet that also makes it slightly repetitive. Percussion needs major work as right now it's pretty flat and sounds like a machine drumming and not... live. The build to the end is weak unfortunately and needs work.

Fit to Art: The track fits decently well, although I think it lacks a general battle drive to it. Then again, the art doesn't depict the battle, so it's alright.

Originality: Nothing new here.

Mawnz responds:

Oh, thank you for the review! Sound quality (mixing and stuffzz) and expanding the sound is something I'm really struggling with, and I basically agree with everything you've said here. I did'nt really feel where the song was going so I kind of tried to build it up towards the end, but even that wasn't really strong enough. Orchestral is new to me as well, but making it is fun so I'll take your review with me for future songs ^^

Thanks again!

Nice composition Mawnz! The piano is a little bit repetitive but not annoyingly repetitive. I like the melody, good work!

Mawnz responds:

Thanks Mattashi ^^ I'll see if I can get some more variation to the piano :P

Well orchestrated, nicely done! I really did enjoy this! A couple improvements I could suggest though:

-You need contrast in the volume. Your instruments are going at a very steady volume, and so the punch you composed isn't getting played! Time to fiddle with the levels!
-The piano, while lovely, is a bit repetitive. See if you can't get a bit more out of it by making the arpeggios have a couple 'filler' 16th notes. You're in a slow 6/8 or a fast 3/4 timing, so you can mix it up a little by having the 4th arpeggio played in double-time. It would give the piano just a little more complexity.
-Finally, keep putting stuff like this out! It was awesome!

Mawnz responds:

Thanks a lot for listening and for the good feedback Ceevro!
I'm not too familiar with making orchestral. Played around with the volumes a little, but I wanted it to feel as epic as possible throughout the song so I got a little stuck and only went for minor changes :P Just dunno where I should adjust the levels T_T
As for the piano. The only little variation I put in was for the calmer part so it could probably use a little more variation apart from that!

Thanks again, much appreciated!
