Chaotic industrial with some pretty extreme breaks eventually.

Reviews

This song is as sexy as

a model lying on her side on your freezer. Hot.

The drums are awesome, even though I would have liked more less chaos in the beginning, and more chaos at the end >=D

As for the bassline, I honest to god don't really like it. I would like a chill bassline. Just instead of '16th note 8th note 16th16t16th note etc etc' you could have just had a chilled offbeat bassling. 'm not talking about techno bassline offbeat like, I'm talkin offbeat. Like, make it slow, but offbeat. So it gets yo' head movin' =D

You did a nice job, creating this chaos for my humble mind and ears to frolick in.

I made a new song... already =P Could ya check it out?

I broke into the neighbours medicine cabinet before I made this one, so the results speak for themselves!
Thanks for the review...it was mainly meant to be an experiment with drums. The bass was designed to be uncomfortable!
If you have new material out, I'm there! :P

Randomness rules

The song really has no base to it, which doesn't have to be a bad thing, I like the almost random sounds that go throughout the song with little pattern to them, it makes it very interesting. The drums are pretty sweet as well.

dj-padman1 responds:

I think I was pretty hung over/stoned when I made this one. Maybe I didn't make it, maybe I just strung together some sounds from the spaceship that picked me up last week for the voyage through space.
I'm confused..
Thanks again for the review ;)

Chaotic.

Nice fat drums and good breaks and chopping. The squelchy bassline is a good contrasting sound, i'm not too keen on the riff itself though. The swirling slightly distorted pads are a nice touch and are the calm amidst the storm. This seems more like an exercise in mangling of sounds rather than a piece of music, but there's nothing wrong with that. This trk is really LOUD, i had to turn my volume below half to listen to it bearably through my headphones, loud may be good, but this might just be a little too much volume-wise. An interesting piece, but I couldn't really get into it. Good stuff nonetheless.

dj-padman1 responds:

Thanks for the review KB. Much appreciated! As usual, you've made some excellent, useful observations. ;)
The bassline, yeah...I can see what you mean. It's pretty random. I was just having a bit of jam so it's not as cohesive as it could be.
I'm guessing the loudness issue is to do with the extreme saturation I applied to the drums, maybe I should be a little more selective where I apply it, thanks for raising the point.
Might be a bit long too, you know how it is when you're jamming, its easy to get carried away, but in the aftermath you realise that objectively, the song shouldn't be that long!
Thanks again :)
I've got a long way to go till I can challenge Autechre...:P

good work

this song kinda sounds like the end of the world..
i could imagen that this was pretty hard to make though, so good job

dj-padman1 responds:

hey, thanks dude. It kind of is the end of the world, I have a huge exam tomorrow which I'm barely ready for...!
